Wonderful location for lake activities

I looked at several other places on Lake Minnetonka in a similar price range before ultimately choosing this one, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. It's a great location for lake related activities. I brought my own sailboat along and docked it all week, but the owners provided a canoe and kayak. There are a variety of interesting channels and smaller lakes and inlets accessible by canoe or kayak nearby that were really fun to explore, and the location on the bay is perfect for launching a sailboat. The dock was also a nice place to take a dip and cool off on the hot days, and the hot tub was a wonderful attraction on the cooler days (there were both in the same week in mid September). In addition to being a great location for lake activities, it was also within about a mile's ride of one of the nicest new bicycle trails in the state (the Dakota Trail) which provides wonderful up-to-15-mile (one way) rides in both directions . . . and one one end can be connected to the Luce Line for much longer rides all the way to downtown Twin Cities or out into central Minnesota. The house itself is wonderfully decorated, with a very charming look throughout . . . but then the kitchen has significanty modernized/remodeled and is--quite frankly--nicer than the one in my own home. The lake facing windows on the main living room provide a wonderful view of the yard and the lake...but for a really outstanding view, the adirondack chairs out at the top of the landing provide spectacular sunset lakeviews in the evening. I entertained a couple of small groups during the week and everyone raved at how wonderful the place was. The owners were VERY easy to work with and--as an added bonus--I found my security deposit refund check in the mail practically the day after I arrived home. I would definitely rent this property again if it were available.
