Excellent Villa

Family of 2 Adults and 2 Children had a fantastic week at 'The Stone Villa' in August 2011. Inside of villa was well equiped, modern and very clean and a good size for 4. The air conditioning worked very well - very efficient and quiet.
The best bit of the villa though is the outdoor space. There is a large patio with tables at the front and side of the house with steps leading down to another large patio area which contains the pool.
The large pool was lovely and clean with great sea views. Pool area is also very quite and private and not overlooked at all. Pictures on the website do not really do justice to the outdoor areas.
The Villa is a fairly easy drive from Lefkas-Prevaza airport, although it would have been nice to have had better driving directions especially as we arrived in the dark.
Thalia was very helpful with local information & taxis!
It would be possible to walk to the main town of Nidri, but the walk is along a busy road and with the scorching August heat we never attempted it. We simply ordered a taxi for the short drive. Cost was 5-10 Euros which seemed to depend on which driver you got!
Beware of trying to get taxis on Saturday evening though, as they all seem to be on Airport runs.
There are a few restaurants closer to the villa in Vliho although we never tried these as we loved the restaurant area in Nidri whre there was a huge choice of restaurants.
The Restaurant staff were very friendly and genuine and we had lovely food at each meal. We were usually offered free extras such as Ice creams, coffee and wine! Meal cost was also cheaper than Spain and France.
Only real downside to the villa is the number of steps to get there so not really suitable for young children or those who struggle with steps. The upside of this though is the fantastic views from the villa
Nidri has all the usual facilities of a holiday resort and good selection of watersports. Do try to hire a small motor boat if you can it is very easy to drive around a few of the satellite islands just off the coast and Meganassi is a lovely stop for lunch. A great day out
We stay regularly in villas around europe and would definately recommend this villa. A car is necessary to make the most of the area.
