Gated entrance. This is a sister apartment to our listing #375651
We purchased this property in 2004. The building went through an extensive, historic, renovation. This unit was only a shell when purchased. It is 100% new construction inside of a 100+ year old building. Brand new walls, floors, electric, plumbing.
Cathy Weldon purchased this apartment in 2004
Soulard is a great neighborhood. Walk to breakfast, lunch, dinner, nightlife, farmers market, baseball. The apartments are above The Porch Wine & Gift Boutique.
This is a huge apartment and very comfortably furnished. The living/dining area is full of windows overlooking 9th Street in Historic Soulard, as well as the famous, Historic Soulard Market.
We stayed (2) nights in the Yellow Apartment while attending the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. The apartment is beautiful and is near many restaurants/bars/farmer's market etc. Cathy is a wonderful host who is very familiar with the neighborhood and the local attractions. We would definitely stay again.
My wife and I really enjoyed our weekend getaway at this location. The condo is very spacious--the pictures really don't do it justice. The Soulard Market is right across the street. In addition, there are a number of fantastic restaurants, pubs, and shops within walking distance. We really enjoyed the neighborhood as well as the condo and plan on coming back to stay here again. The owner was very helpful with dining suggestions and places to check out. Her shop--located directly below the apartment--was really nice and had an excellent variety of wines. We planned on exploring St. Louis during the visit, but we enjoyed this neighborhood so much that we never got further than our feet could take us!
Clean, spacious apartment with everything you need. Much nicer to come home to this spacious condo than a cramped hotel room. We arrived late but Cathy arranged to have the key available so we had no issues getting in. Good restaurants and bars just steps away. Llewelyn's bar offers a free trolley ride (with purchase) to and from the Cardinal's game which was great! We took advantage of this service twice.
My only regret is that we were not able to enjoy the farmer's market since we were there from Sunday-Tuesday when it wasn't open.
We were worried about finding parking but it didn't end up being an issue. We arrived on Saturday night when things were relatively busy but still found a spot nearby. However, we did get a $10 ticket because apparently the "2nd Tuesday of the month is reserved for street cleaning from 8:30-noon". This wasn't marked on any street signs so it'd be wise to check the city's website for other events like this.
We highly recommend staying at this condo!
The pictures do not do this place justice. It was way better in a lot of ways. The apartment is really large and airy with windows everywhere that you can open and be a part of all the excitement of the Soulard area. People are noisy until at least 1 am but when in the bedroom you can not hear it, at least we didn't. Cathy knew that we were staying there for my husbands birthday and to go to a Cubs Cards Baseball game (Go Cubs) so she had cookies shaped like baseball gloves made for us, so adorable! We walked to Busch Stadium (little over a mile) and to Anheuser-Busch (also a little over a mile) and it was easy walks. There are so many places to go eat and drink and most are on the same block. Do not bring any fruits, meats, vegetable, etc the farmers market is amazing and very cheap, you will want to buy everything from there. We have never spent any amount of time in St. Louis and for first timers this was a great place to stay. My husband says we will be back every year and we will not hesitate to stay here every time!
This property is gorgeous- it's much more spacious than the pictures lead you to believe. The rooms are all very open and inviting with plenty of space to spread out. We loved being right in the heart of Soulard- expecially the market on Saturday morning. We did our grocery shopping at the market and then spent the night making a fresh dinner in the large kitchen. We are already searching for another weekend that we can get booked so we can return to this apartment.
Highly recommend and can't wait to come back! Thank you!
My husband, son, and I rented this apartment for a long weekend visit. The apartment is great, Cathy (the owner) was very hospitable, and the neighborhood is very fun and active with lots to do. There's a restaurant/bar that offers free shuttles to Busch Stadium, which is only about a mile away.
Great place! Can't wait to visit and stay here again!!
