I have been coming to Palm Beach since 1991, spending more and more time, enjoying every minute spent at The Dorchester. It has been my retreat from the bustle of the Washington DC area. I recently completed a small redevelopment in the center of Palm Beach where I am spending 6 months a year. I was referred to vrbo.com by a friend and decided to give it a try. I hope my renters will be as happy at The Dorchester as I have been.

Why Diane Gordy chose South Palm Beach

After visiting Palm Beach as a guest in hotels or homes of friends, I decided to buy my own home. I chose The Dorchester after looking at several properties. Knowing I would fully renovate any property I purchased (I am and architect and interior designer), I looked for manageable size and well maintained common areas. The layout of my unit offers great privacy for a unit it's size when entertaining overnight guests in that the living area separates the master suite from the den/second bedroom and bath.

What makes this apartment unique

I love being able to look look up from my newspaper or book and see the ocean and the lake from my balcony . It's perfect for dining al fresco for an intimate dinner or quiet breakfast.

Built in 1979, The Dorchester is a supurbly maintained mid-rise condo complex of 100 units in 2 5-storey buildings located on a narrow stretch between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Worth between the Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach and the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Manalapan. Step down from a grassy knoll to the beach for an early morning stroll from a beautifully landscaped swimming pool/hot tub area furnished with lounges, tables, chairs and gas grill or choose the paved walking trail along the lake just outside the front door. Play tennis on the newly resurfaced court or bike along AIA to enjoy the scenic ocean and lake views. Head north to Worth Avenue for world class shopping or south to Atlantic Avenue in Delray for an active night life. Enjoy the Palm Beach public golf course less than 3 miles from The Dorchester or cross the Southern Boulevard bridge for antiquing along Dixie Highway. Choose from dozens of wonderful restaurants, all within a very short drive.
