Rock Cottage is a Georgian hunting lodge, dating back to 1826. A unique property with lots of historical features. Rock Cottage lies on the Mizen peninsula, very secluded, yet close to everything the area has to offer. The main house overlooks the gardens and lightly wooded paddocks, where sheep and donkeys graze, joined by some hens, dogs and cats to complete the cast.All in all the property stands on 17 acres. At the back lies a walled courtyard/ garden with the restored outbuildings. Stables, a smaller holiday cottage ( see property 72453) and the owners accommodation. A short walk leads to heather covered hills with stunning views over the bay and the surrounding countryside. Weather you bring your family or enough friends to fill the house, Rock Cottage is the ideal base to explore the area or relax here. Rock Cottage is normally run as an award winning guesthouse and is now, for the first time,available for your self-catering holiday.

Gourmets will enjoy the farmers markets where locally produced Artisan food is on offer or you can take a cookery class in the Good Things Cafe in Durrus. Some excellent Restaurants are nearby. Rock Cottage lies convenient enough to visit the Ring of Beara, Kenmare, Killarney or Cork all within a days excursion.
