A World Heritage site in an area of outstanding natural beauty but also very convenient for visiting the market town of Bridport, Lyme Regis, Weymouth and Dorchester. Notes: The cottage is in the middle of the village but off the main road. It is a very quiet village without street lamps but very safe and peaceful. There is space for two cars on the gated driveway as well as ample parking on the quiet road outside. It is very popular walking country! The village has an excellent post office (400 yards) selling fresh local produce. There is also a Spar mini supermarket for more general needs (600 yards). For a main supermarket, Bridport (2 miles) has a large Morrisons and new Waitrose. There are two good pubs in Burton Bradstock within 200 yards of the cottage, a library, an active village hall, and a childrens playground. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to walk pass the church and stream across a field and a road to the beach and cliffs. Perfect early morning exercise!

A Perfect Place To Unwind

Nearly retired Hampshire
Review Submitted: November 8, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
My wife and I only spent three nights in the cottage but in that short time realised we had found a real gem of a place to escape to. The cottage was beautifully renovated, the internal spaces were generous and the furnishings tasteful. The weather also allowed us to sit outside on the patio which was a real sun trap. We particularly enjoyed walking to the beach and the fantastic Hive Beach Cafe which serves great food in a stunning location. The local post office sells the tastiest eggs and home made bread - delicious! Locally, the large supermarket in Bridport was handy and further afield we enjoyed Dorchester and Lyme. We are returning as soon as posible!

The pictures on this web site are accurate, and portray exactly what you will get. The cottage is immaculate. The bathroom is wonderful. The village the cottage is situated in is also lovely, and it is within walking distance of the coast. Highly recommended.

Lovely, well equiped, charming cottage!

Review Submitted: October 16, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Hi:
My friend and I thouroughly enjoyed your lovely cottage in such a wonderful part of the country. I have stayed in places all over the UK so I know what to expect when hiring a holiday home. You have equipped the place to a very high standard, making it seem so much like home down to the custom made, lush draperies I understand your wife made.
Both my friend and I have nice places we live in, her in Kent, me in the States, so for us this was like being at home. You have taken pains to have nice dishes, glasses for everything, plenty of silverware and small things like wine openers, potato peelers, spices, and even a pitcher that purifies water. And you have done the beds so they have various degrees of firmness, allowing people to chose. I was a bit like Goldilocks when we first arrived. I laid across all three beds and then chose the front bedroom which has a softer feel. My friend prefers one that is more firm, so she chose the back, master bedroom. But all of them were lovely. We also appreciate that you have a nice flat screen TV with surround and we have enjoyed our evenings in watching DVD's and X Factor... to which my friend is addicted! It's also been great for me that you have Wifi since I work as a journalist and was able to continue my regular contributions. It was also nice enough to sit outside in the early evening and have a drink... and that has been fun.We should definately be back!

Owner's Response: We have tried to think of everything we would want to see in a luxury holiday home and given the high standards that Americans expect we are delighted that our cottage hits the mark!

What a beautiful cottage and location!

Ferrari Man Maidenhead
Review Submitted: September 29, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
I can say nothing but good things about this property. It is extremely clean and cosy with all creature comforts you could want. The decor is very relaxing and the proprtions are large for such a property. The bathroom is fantastic with the biggest bath I have ever seen. The location is again first rate. The walk to the beach is only around 10 minutes past a stream and through a field. The sleep I had was probably the best in years. No noise and a comfy bed.

To cap it all, there is a pub in the village called The Anchor that served a great selection of well cooked food to cater for all.

To sum up, I have stayed in quite a few similar properties, but this has to be the best so far. I have already booked a return stay and recommended it to friends and family.
