Casa Verde - the open water views from every room of this gorgeous home will leave you breathless! This is truly an escape from the hustle bustle.
Located on direct open water in a very quiet neighborhood, you can enjoy many resort activities - without ever leaving home! Snorkel, fish, or swim right off the deck, in the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Florida Keys. Or, you may choose to lounge or swim in the waterfront, 30-foot by 15-foot, heated pool. The view from the screened in porch is also stunning and barbecuing or simply enjoying the heavenly breezes in one of two hammocks is a relaxing end to the day. Watching the sunset from the deck or lying in a lounge chair under the stars is a great way to really unwind.
Our home is very spacious and is appointed with the highest quality, Tommy Bahama furniture.
As our home has an ample sea wall, you may choose to bring your own boat. You will be glad you did - exploring the Lower Keys Back Country is unforgettable. Canoes are available for rent at the Sugarloaf Lodge less than a mile away, so, even without a boat you can view the native Florida birds and marine life up close.
When you need some more action you can drive the scenic 20 minutes to Key West, which boasts fabulous restaurants, nightlife, museums, historic buildings, and tons of unique charm!
Our family's love for Casa Verde is evident in the care that has gone into providing you with the very best vacation home. We hope you love our home as much as we do.
This is late but I depend on this site for reviews so knew i had to take the time to give mine about this beautiful peaceful property! My 50th birthday was the reason for the trip with my 2 sons 24 & 29, and ones' girlfriend-29, my mother in law, and my husband and I. First! I do a TON of research on everything I plan to see, place I rent, or car I'm going to drive! This home beat out 2 dozen I considered. *1* can't beat the views/beauty of the water... right on the corner lot, water 2 sides of us! Relaxing covered cabana to fish from, bbq, just kick back and relax. The Pool was cold our first 2 days, only 1 of 2 complaints. It was Jan and cold so were counting on the heated pool, but after pool guy came by it was fine the next night. So fun, and a good way to sober up after a fun time in Key West - which is only a 20 min drive :) We went there 4 times, the best time watching the Bronco's win the AFC Champs!! Being from Denver and in our gear was a hoot - we had a good time at the sports bar JackFlats. Home is so open and views abound as you step in!! (several stairs.. they did have a handicap "elevator" type thing but don't know if it works, did not have need to use it) Truly awesome getting up to make coffee and seeing the awesomeness of God! Bedrooms were nice with each having a view as well! We had a hard time opening/closing the sliding glass door in the master (and no screens probably because of weather??) and would suggest this be replaced, but other than that we had a wonderful relaxing time and would come again! Oh, and the Turtle Hospital is awesome, i'm a (bigger) fan now!
We loved our stay at your home! My wife & I enjoyed the privacy of the corner lot, dense tropical foliage and palm trees! The pool was really enjoyable and the views of the water are fantastic! We enjoyed kayaking around the bay and the canals. The house is in nice condition, and had everything you'd need. The owner was very attentive, and was only a call away if we needed anything. We have rented many vacation home in the keys over the years, and I would highly recommend staying at Casa Verde! Nice short 20 minute drive to Key West for all the action & nightlife! 5 short minutes to Mangrove Mamas for a lobster Reuben.Yum! We did not want to leave!
Our family just returned from our first time in the Florida Keys and all I can say is that we will be back. The property had an excellent location with such an awesome view. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the pool to swimming, kayaking, and fishing right in the water. We caught alot of fish. Colette was just so awesome to communicate with before our trip and during our trip. Such a pleasure. The house is a big house that will fit large families comfortably without ever stepping on each other. The house has everything in it that you will need. We spent alot of time at the house because there was so much to do there. During the end of our stay, we had a crane come sit with us while we were fishing waiting for us the catch fish. He took one away before we could put it back in the water but he would come daily to the house after that day. The neighborhood was quiet and pretty. I enjoyed my morning run many times during our stay here. It was nice being so close to Key West, which is the reason I chose Sugarloaf Key, that we were able to go there many times with and without the kids.
My family and I had such a great time here!! Thank you Colette - we will be back soon.
Wonderful stay in Sugarloaf Key! The pictures do not do this property justice. You will not find a more beautiful setting. Even though it rained the first week of our stay, we were still able to enjoy the beauty of the Keys from the wall of windows in the living area. Everything we needed was provided. Colette was available at all times for any questions. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. Most of the time we were the only people around. Can't wait to go back next year!!
The first thing you see as you enter is the breathtaking view! To be able to wake up every day and look out over the open water with palm trees swaying is to know you are truely staying in paradise. We have rented many homes in Sugarloaf and have found one we would definitely return to.
You can relax in the heated pool or hot tub while taking advantage of this spectacular view or swim, kayak, or snorkle from the dock. There are easily accessible paths for walking or biking and you are sure to meet a few locals on their daily walks. We rented bikes from Big Pine Key Bike Rentals and Marty is happy to deliver and pick up the bikes right to your door.
We are usually a group of 6 adults and do most of our cooking at home as to enjoy the fresh seafood available locally and found most everything we needed at the house to create a nightly feast! It's probably good we did not discover the pies and pastries made daily at Sugarloaf Food Company, MM 24, until our last few days or we wouldn't have been able to fit into our long pants for the return up North. One of our favorite lunches was at Square Grouper and we always make our way to No Name Pub for pizza and a drink.
All in all, one of our favorite trips and made better by the beautiful location and accommodating host Colette. Thanks for sharing your tropical home with us, we will most definitely be back!
If you're looking for a relaxing vacation, this is the property for you. It sits quietly on a bay in a neighborhood that is great for biking, kayaking, and walks. The house has a pool and a Jacuzzi which is great for the winter months when the weather is cooler. The home is inviting and comfortable and clean. The landlords were always quick to return our calls when we needed anything, We have six children and they never lacked for something to do, Would we go back? definitely!
