About Terri Pangborn

We are an active duty military family. We were stationed in Fairbanks Alaska from 2005 to 2009. We were relocated by the military, but knew we wanted to return to Alaska for retirement. In 2011 we had the opportunity to return to Alaska. We have been waiting for 'just the right place' to become available, for us to start our retirement dream of running a B&B/vacation rental in Alaska. Moose Walk Cabin was exactly what our family was looking for. We absolutely love everything about Alaska. We look forward to making your stay in Alaska, no matter how long, a memorable experience.

Terri Pangborn purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Terri Pangborn chose Fairbanks

This property was chosen because of the birch and spruce trees, the access to the stream, and central location between the Ft Wainwwright, Eielson Air Force Base and the cities of North Pole and Fairbanks. The neighborhood is well maintained and neighbors add on to their homes rather than move to another location. They value their land, homes and Alaskan way of life. It is a wonderful community and provides an authentic Alaskan neighborhood for the visitor.

What makes this cabin unique

This private waterfront property allows you to stay in a rural residential setting. You have access to a 2 acre yard, a wood burning sauna in a separate building, a playhouse, a pavillion with a fire pit, picnic tables and expertise from your hostess if needed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This cabin really is a gem. Stay here--you won't be disappointed. Our family of 5 stayed for 45 days while we searched for a new home. Moose Walk Cabin had everything our family needed. We really enjoyed watching the wildlife through the large picture windows downstairs. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Everything you need to cook (minus food) is in the large kitchen. The wood fired sauna was a great treat to relax in on a cold winter day. A grocery store and the Santa Claus House are only three minutes away in North Pole.

Even more than we had hoped for

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently spent three nights here on our long dreamed of and awaited winter vacation to see the northern lights. Over the years, we have stayed in many vacation rentals through VRBO, and this is without a doubt, is the cleanest most well equipped of them all. Terri and Rod have only owned this cabin for just over a year and during this time they have worked very hard to update the property in every way. The cabin is quaint and has a true Alaskan feel but with all the modern touches. The furniture is cozy and comfortable, the cabin is warm and inviting and the kitchen is one of the best that we have ever stayed in. I especially loved the new coffee maker and the assortment of chocolate and teas! (and the delicious dessert that was left for us in the refrigerator) Since I often prefer to cook rather that go out, the quality of the kitchen a most important feature to me.

Terri and Rod are warm and friendly people who are well suited to welcoming visitors to this cabin. They go out of their way to extend the best of Fairbanks to their guests. Their goal was to own a VRBO and this property is the realization of that dream.... and we might guess that they may own others in the future...... We would to stay with them anytime without question.

We are actually thinking of returning in the fall to see Alaska without snow. We hope that Rod and Terri will have an opening for us when we come again!

Aurora Retreat

This is a wonderful cabin for a couple. We were visiting for our 10 year anniversary and wanted something cute and cozy, and this was it! There were beautiful little touches through out the cabin including Terri's amazing cake and a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. We also had the luxury of having some eggs from the chickens and great caribou sausage. Needless to say we will come back. Hopefully in the summer to enjoy the great weather. Don't forget to say "hi" to BoBo the four legged mascot.

Great place to getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Terri and Rod are great and certainly make this place special. The cabin is charming, clean and well kept. The cabin is also in a great location, close to activities, but still remote enough to get that feel of the Alaska wilderness. On top of that, Terri and Rod went out of their way to make our stay special. Terri showed us her chicken pen and stayed in touch with us the whole time to provide directions and help up with planning activities. Rod is a great guy and spent a lot of time making sure everything was perfect. We will be coming back in the spring!!

Owner's Response: Moose Walk Cabin is in a very quiet wooded setting, yet only three miles from downtown North Pole. You are able to relax and watch wildlife through the large bay windows and 5 minutes later you are able to dine, shop, or visit the Santa Claus House.

Perfect vacation cabin

  • 5 of 5

This place is like a home away from home. Terri and Rodney are the best hosts you will ever meet. They are ready to answer any questions you may have about Fairbanks. The cabin is very very homey and fully stocked with all the essentials you will need. The cabin is in a perfect spot to watch the Northern Lights right out the window while sitting on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate. I couldn't of picked a better spot in Fairbanks if I tried! When we checked in they had a fire going for us and a delicious home made cake in the fridge! If we are ever in Fairbanks this is the place for us!

Owner's Response: We make every stay special at Moose Walk Cabin. We can't control the northern lights; but the view of the northern lights from the cabin has been amazing this year.

delightful home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Terri has really made this cabin a wonderful mix of quaint/old fashioned cabin feel that is updated and comfortable in all the right ways. Wonderful spot for Aurora viewing, we spent a lot of time relaxing at the cabin rather than touring since we have a toddler, and the cabin was so comfortable, especially with the wood stove in winter. Terri was especially thoughtful in providing baby items like high chair & pack n play crib, even some baby toys! And we enjoyed the fresh eggs and Alaska cake she had made for us. Definitely would love to come back!

Fantastisch

  • 5 of 5
