About Terri Pangborn

We are an active duty military family. We were stationed in Fairbanks Alaska from 2005 to 2009. We were relocated by the military, but knew we wanted to return to Alaska for retirement. In 2011 we had the opportunity to return to Alaska. We have been waiting for 'just the right place' to become available, for us to start our retirement dream of running a B&B/vacation rental in Alaska. Moose Walk Cabin was exactly what our family was looking for. We absolutely love everything about Alaska. We look forward to making your stay in Alaska, no matter how long, a memorable experience.

Terri Pangborn purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Terri Pangborn chose Fairbanks

This property was chosen because of the birch and spruce trees, the access to the stream, and central location between the Ft Wainwwright, Eielson Air Force Base and the cities of North Pole and Fairbanks. The neighborhood is well maintained and neighbors add on to their homes rather than move to another location. They value their land, homes and Alaskan way of life. It is a wonderful community and provides an authentic Alaskan neighborhood for the visitor.

What makes this cabin unique

This private waterfront property allows you to stay in a rural residential setting. You have access to a 2 acre yard, a wood burning sauna in a separate building, a playhouse, a pavillion with a fire pit, picnic tables and expertise from your hostess if needed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This cabin really is a gem. Stay here--you won't be disappointed. Our family of 5 stayed for 45 days while we searched for a new home. Moose Walk Cabin had everything our family needed. We really enjoyed watching the wildlife through the large picture windows downstairs. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Everything you need to cook (minus food) is in the large kitchen. The wood fired sauna was a great treat to relax in on a cold winter day. A grocery store and the Santa Claus House are only three minutes away in North Pole.

delightful home away from home!

Terri has really made this cabin a wonderful mix of quaint/old fashioned cabin feel that is updated and comfortable in all the right ways. Wonderful spot for Aurora viewing, we spent a lot of time relaxing at the cabin rather than touring since we have a toddler, and the cabin was so comfortable, especially with the wood stove in winter. Terri was especially thoughtful in providing baby items like high chair & pack n play crib, even some baby toys! And we enjoyed the fresh eggs and Alaska cake she had made for us. Definitely would love to come back!

Fantastisch

Stunning during Winter!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is perfect! Terri and Rod are outstanding hosts. They had the frozen slough behind the cabin plowed for ice skating, hockey and playing around. We were able to experience Aurora Borealis from the cabin and relax by the wood burning stove afterwards. Just an excellent time and if you haven't see North Pole, AK during the winter, you must, it's simply amazing. Lot's of great memories and lot's of awesome pictures. We also mailed our Christmas cards from the North Pole Post Office! We hope to return for a longer stay.

Moose Walk Cabin

This was far the best vacation rental we ever have had. The owners far exceeded any of our expectancys we had. At first we was skeptical about VBRO (a friend told me about it, so I tried it) : our experience was so wonderful that we are planning to return again, hopefully next year. The owners was the greatest hosts we have ever had and the cabin was EXCEPTIONAL. We missed the Aurora Borealis but that was Mother Natures fault. Wonderful place to be and it could be a home away from home.

Cole family stayed in early July

This is an awesome place. Even better that the pictures, so clean and accommodating. We were a larger group and they let us hook up our motor home for some of us to sleep in. This was a last stop in Alaska and we really did not want to leave. We saw moose in the creek (which is really close to the house) every morning and night. Beautiful deck that we loved to set out on all night, since it never really gets dark that time of year. They also had a canoe and trampoline for us to use. And so many games for the kids to play with. Just an awesome ending to a fantastic trip. We will all remember this place for the rest of our life.
