About Terri Pangborn

We are an active duty military family. We were stationed in Fairbanks Alaska from 2005 to 2009. We were relocated by the military, but knew we wanted to return to Alaska for retirement. In 2011 we had the opportunity to return to Alaska. We have been waiting for 'just the right place' to become available, for us to start our retirement dream of running a B&B/vacation rental in Alaska. Moose Walk Cabin was exactly what our family was looking for. We absolutely love everything about Alaska. We look forward to making your stay in Alaska, no matter how long, a memorable experience.

Terri Pangborn purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Terri Pangborn chose Fairbanks

This property was chosen because of the birch and spruce trees, the access to the stream, and central location between the Ft Wainwwright, Eielson Air Force Base and the cities of North Pole and Fairbanks. The neighborhood is well maintained and neighbors add on to their homes rather than move to another location. They value their land, homes and Alaskan way of life. It is a wonderful community and provides an authentic Alaskan neighborhood for the visitor.

What makes this cabin unique

This private waterfront property allows you to stay in a rural residential setting. You have access to a 2 acre yard, a wood burning sauna in a separate building, a playhouse, a pavillion with a fire pit, picnic tables and expertise from your hostess if needed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This cabin really is a gem. Stay here--you won't be disappointed. Our family of 5 stayed for 45 days while we searched for a new home. Moose Walk Cabin had everything our family needed. We really enjoyed watching the wildlife through the large picture windows downstairs. The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Everything you need to cook (minus food) is in the large kitchen. The wood fired sauna was a great treat to relax in on a cold winter day. A grocery store and the Santa Claus House are only three minutes away in North Pole.

Great Cabin, Wonderful Hosts, and Northern Lights Show!

  • 5 of 5
When we arrived, the cabin was ready and supplied with everything we could want. The beds were comfortable and the furniture was perfect for relaxing. Rod and Terri were super helpful and a delight to speak with. We were able to take some amazing photos of the Aurora Borealis from beside the cabin! Overall, a wonderful visit and experience!

Owner's Response: Moose Walk Cabin does have amazing views of the northern lights and wildlife. In front of the cabin the water will be frozen soon and the ice skating rink & hockey arena will be built. This area also provides another excellent view of the northern lights.

Wonderful Alaskan Experience

  • 5 of 5
Everything was wonderful at the cabin. The pictures are nice, but they don't really do it justice. The cabin itself is much nicer. Terri and Rod do an excellent job maintaining the place and their suggestions for activities and restaurants are spot on. We were even given a lovely breakfast of moose sausage and fresh eggs. It was great to start the day in the river with the canoe, make some bbq on the grill during the day and have a bonfire at night. You'd be making a mistake to stay anywhere else.

Owner's Response: We are glad our guests enjoy the activities at our cabin. Moose Walk Cabin is ideally located for all interior Alaska destinations, but our cabin and the large deck overlooking the water are pretty hard to beat for a day of relaxing.

WOW factor of 10

What a great place. Rod and Terri greeted us as we were carrying in the luggage, even offering to carry it in for us.Gave us the tour of the house, with info on the surrounding area. Very helpful and informative with all our questions. It was all we had hoped for and more. The cabin was fully stocked with all that we could think of.Saw moose the first night we were there, and watched one across the slough on day 3.Even got to feel an earthquake that shook the cabin on day3. Never had that experience before. Also Terri thanks for the Caribou steaks they were fantastic, and was the sweet treat in the frig on arrival. You will not go wrong renting this cabin. Thanks again!

Moose Walk Cabin Lives Up to Its Name!

  • 5 of 5
What could more enjoyable to wake up to in Alaska than 5 moose right out in front of your cabin having breakfast? All in one morning, all at one time, they came. First there was a mama with a baby, then a small bull moose, and then a HUGE mama and baby all came out around the slough to eat the weeds in it. It was truly a remarkable Alaska moment to be a part of on our recent Alaskan adventure.
Spending 5 days at this cabin was another wonderful experience we enjoyed on our trip. Terry and Rod were very warm, welcoming and enjoyable hosts. The pride they take in sharing this charming and well appointed cabin was evident throughout our stay. We were greeted with a strawberry cake and Lindt truffles on our pillows and a flavored coffee machine(the boys were thrilled with all the flavors Terri provided to choose from). As a family of 3, we had more than enough room for a very comfortable stay at Moose Walk Cabin. All of the accommodations were great; huge fluffy bath towels, washer/dryer, comfortable beds with plenty of bedding, and decorations throughout the cabin that reflected the theme of the cabin. This cabin is truly an Alaskan get-away vacation accommodation.
The moose viewing made this already special vacation spot even more so, as did our hosts, too. Thanks to both Terri and Rod from our family for all you did to make our stay here at your cabin absolutely wonderful. We came as guests and left as friends. We'll be back!
