My family and I decided to buy this house because we have lived in the area for over 20 years. A lot of people now, want to live in this area. Years ago the neighborhood was not really good but over the years it has improved becoming one of the most sought after areas to build and live in. This area has not lost any value. For example a new Walmart is being built only three blocks away as well as other things. My family and I always saw and see great potential in this house. Early in the mourning you see people getting ready for work or school. Children walking to school with their parents. Throughout the day its pretty calm. Everybody knows everybody. We know are neighbors and invite one another to our houses or help one another as well. A lot of people do not look behind what they see. Some may get hood shock when they see the area or because of its name Barrio Logan, but its a good place. There is a lot of history here its historic. Because of this eight houses down a San Diego city assembly man owns a house here. Its a working class neighborhood. That’s why we love it so much. Not only that its near downtown, parks or whatever we want to do. During Friday nights sometimes Petco park throws a show of fireworks and we can see it from the house. We lived in San Diego for many years now and we don’t plan on leaving this area because of its diversity and what it has to offer.

We liked this home because it was old. It was built in 1923. It has arched ceilings when you enter the dinning room and living room as well as the hall way. We also liked the porch. Its a good place to sit down and just watch what’s going on in the neighborhood. The yard in the front was big too as well as the back yard. The back yard was one of the biggest in the neighborhood until we decided to build the back house. Overall we liked the house it has character and it fit our needs.

NICE HOME NEAR EVERYTHING

  • 5 of 5
My family and friends came for a few days. We were a total of ten people, 6 adults and 4 children. The house accommodated our needs very well. The kids enjoyed playing with the fountain in the front yard. While us adults had fun in the jacuzzi and using the grill. The weather was great. We went to the beach in Coronado which was not a far ride very close to the home. Downtown is also near by we took the trolley and left the cars. We did a lot of activities in San Diego and after a long day out we really enjoyed coming to the house. My wife was very pleased with it, and you know what they say if moms happy everybody's happy. Kitchen is big, it fit us all of course the adults ate in the dinning table while the kids ate in the kitchen.

Its an older house but it has its charm, it has character. We were a little hesitant at first before renting it. Never judge a book by its cover. We're glad we rented it out.

Overall I recommend this home to anyone.

NICE, CLEAN HOMEY FEEL

  • 5 of 5
We were at first worried about renting the house but we did it anyways and we are happy we did. The house was clean the area is good. My family and I had a very good time. It was nice to go to the Zoo, SeaWorld and downtown during our visit. Not that far from the house either. The first day we arrived we spent the entire day hanging out around the house, because we were tired from our trip. We watched TV in the living room, did a little cooking (Walmart is a 3 minute drive from the house which is a bonus). Overall we were not disappointed with the house. My family and I enjoyed it very much.

GOOD FOR THE MONEY.

  • 4 of 5
We stayed at this property in January 2014. The price was very good, we had short driving distances to everywhere we needed to go (Sea World, Zoo, Balboa Park, Coronado) and the owner was very responsive to our questions both before and during the trip. A few things you need to know about this place, though: it says it's in the Gaslamp quarter, but it isn't quite, so check the exact location with the owner if the exact location matters to you. The wifi was spotty at best in the house, so if anyone in your group is planning to work remotely, you'll have to sit behind the house (best reception there) or find the nearest Starbucks. Also, the house does not have a dishwasher.
If you're tired of Sea World and are interested in murals and some San Diego history, you may enjoy http://www.chicanoparksandiego.com/murals/, which is a few minutes' drive from the neighborhood.

LOVED IT.

  • 5 of 5
I just want to thank the owner of the palm house, we really loved it. Its a nice and very clean and well located for 10 people without a car. Transportation is only about one block from the house, the trolley and bus. There are lots of Mexican food stores with very friendly people. Walmart is just a block and a half from the house. Coronado beach is really beautiful its just crossing the bridge and your there. We enjoyed San Diego very much. Best weather. Thanks again to the owner because she helped us every time we needed it. We also enjoyed the wine and the goodies the she provided. We will take nice memories back home with us to Canada.

GOOD TIME IN SAN DIEGO.

  • 5 of 5
My friends and I had a good time in San Diego. We were glad that the trolley was a block away. We didn't have to use our car as much to get around downtown because there is not a lot of parking. This was the first time a few of us rented a house. The house was clean and spacious. The rooms were big and we had plenty of blankets. We had a good time watching movies on the dvd player. Overall our stay was nice, we had no problems with the house what so ever. We will recommend the house to anyone else who wants to come.

HAPPY GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
My self and my two teenage girls stayed in this house for four days escaping the busy and noisy city of New York, we found the house as its advertised . the house was peaceful, clean closed to any source, we enjoyed the Jacuzzi, the kitchen is a old fashion but fully equipped with new fridge and all for an affordable price, including a good welcome bottle of wine. we definitely come back, thanks.

Located near downtown San Diego and the trolley station which are only three blocks away. About 5 minutes away to the gas lamp district by car. The San Diego convention center is only five minutes away by car and 8 minutes away on the trolley. Seaport village is located on the bay overlooking Coronado next to the convention center. The famous San Diego Zoo is only minutes away from the house as well as Balboa Park where there are many historical buildings, as well as museums. The house is also located in a very diverse culture making it one of the oldest and up in coming neighborhoods. Near by on Main Street there is a coffee shop where they roast their own beans for those coffee lovers. Its called Ryan and Brothers. Also if you love tortillas go to the Sawaya Brothers only a 3 minute drive from the house. They are known all around San Diego for their tortillas. If you prefer to dine and go clubbing go to the histori Gaslamp Quarter. Take Market to downtown to get there only a 8 minute drive or by trolley where it drops you off in the heart 12 minutes. All this and much more can be enjoyed without paying exuberant prices.
