Most recently the addition of a custom built walnut California King to master bedroom, espresso maker in addition to Keurig, bluetooth wireless surround sound to connect from your phone or Ipod, and two Queen AeroBeds for additional guests to sleep on for large groups.**

This modern designer boutique hotel style home in more than 2050 square feet is located just 3 miles straight down Jefferson Blvd to the beach, minutes to Santa Monica, Hollywood, Manhattan Beach, and Beverly Hills. Walking distance to Sprouts Farmers Market and Pavilions for fresh and organic groceries, and also to Westfield at Culver City shopping mall with its great restaurants and shopping. A very short drive or 20 minute walk to The Bridge with an IMAX theater and more shops.

Beautiful custom furniture, maple hardwood floors, wood burning fireplace, 120+' projector screen, and an array of exotic tile inside and out will make you disappointed to leave. In addition, all the bed linens are at least 400 thread count Egyptian cotton and sateen to ensure you always get a good nights rest and luxurious spa like towels for all baths as well.

The very spacious master suite has vaulted ceilings and a custom Walnut California King sized bed with a Posturepedic memory foam mattress, Pyrenees down comforter and finished off with 540 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets for a great nights sleep! In addition, the master has an attached and private spa-style bathroom with sit-in steam shower equipped with Grohe shower head and body sprayer along with separate jacuzzi tub for relaxing after a long day seeing the city. 36' flat screen with premium satellite television and DVD player will ensure you are entertained or relaxed at all hours, depending on your preference.

The 2nd bedroom features a top quality full size bed with a memory foam mattress, down comforter, and Egyptian cotton sheets, Ipod dock/alarm clock speakers, and a full bathroom with tub/shower just outside of the bedroom.

The 3rd bedroom is an office/bedroom and has a top of the line full size futon which truly rivals the other beds in terms of comfort and has bedding like all other beds in the house.

The Living room has massive HD projector which expands up to 120' along with 5.1 built in surround sound and DVD player to make movies or sporting events memorable. If you want to listen to music you can connect wirelessly via bluetooth to the surround sound system or plug in your phone/Ipod via an auxiliary cable to enjoy the wonderful sound system. Complete satellite (DirecTV) with all premium movie channels and cable. Sleeping arrangement in the living room is two very large, flat, comfortable and firm (not too firm) couches which easily convert into two separate beds larger than a twin each or combined into one larger bed between the size of a queen and king. 3rd full bathroom with shower is located conveniently away from other bedrooms for its own privacy for those guests sleeping in the living room.

The large and open, custom designed kitchen featured on TV cooking shows is loaded with everything you will need to make gourmet meals. You are equipped with GE Monogram: convection/standard oven, microwave, refrigerator, Keurig Coffee Maker and a Jenn-Air 5 burner cook top. Toaster oven, panini press, blender, rice cooker, pots, pans, and very nice and contemporary stemware round it all out. In addition, you will find all the basic spices, oils, etc that you need to make your culinary experience complete without having to purchase every little thing.

BARBECUE:

If you want to enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather, the large gas outdoor stainless steel BBQ and seating area, backyard fire pit, and outdoor speakers make the indoor/outdoor experience complete.

INTERNET/BUSINESS/OFFICE NEEDS:

Cable wireless internet with download speeds of 15-20 mbs/sec will ensure you are connected all over the property including the backyard. Home office is equipped with a computer, printer, scanner and telephone with free calls anywhere in the US. All for your use.

Washer and Dryer located in seperate laundry area of home.

Recessed halogen lighting throughout the home with dimmers lets you set any mood you like.

Home is equipped with a tankless hot water heater to ensure no guests run out of hot water when using any of the 3 full bathrooms with showers.

Central HVAC (Heating and Air Conditioning) ensures you are comfortable at all times.

Wood burning fireplace to heat up those brisk evenings (not very many in Los Angeles!).

RATES:

The rates are calculated using the base rent below for triple occupancy and then an additional fee of $40/guest per night after the 3rd guest. Property sleeps 4 in real beds, 2 on a futon which has the top of the line futon mattress and rivals the beds in terms of comfort, 2 on comfortable couches in the living room, and 4 on 2 queen size air mattresses (AeroBeds) which are very comfortable and you can read the guest reviews about them. 12 total comfortably.

PARKING:

Driveway parking for one car and wide open street parking for essentially as many vehicles as you would like.

The street is very wide and quiet with almost no traffic except a few nearby residents making it perfect for kids to play in. One block up the street the children can enjoy the basketball courts and baseball fields in addition to a grassy park with benches great for relaxing and picnicking.

MARKETS/GROCERIES:

Sprouts Farmers Market and Pavilions (Gourmet grocery store) are both located less than 1/2 mile away. Culver City and Playa Vista Farmers Markets are both less than 2 miles away featuring fresh organic produce grown in California. If interested, let me know and I will give you the schedule!

We arrvied and thought "ok is is cool"
House appears to be bright and well thought out untill u realize there are problems. deferred maintaince and poor fit and finish plumbing wise,worst choice of light switchs ever, raise there own problems.
leaving the car in the way(dont scracht the $30 benzs) was not well thought out either.
Use VRBO again? yes, but steer clear of 60 year old houses in LA

Owner's Response: Hi Andreas, I am sorry about the issues which you mentioned and I want you and everyone else to know that they have been corrected. Things do occur when renting a property and I always strive to correct them immediately. Upon re-entering the property after your stay I saw that the light switch in the office seemed to be malfunctioning. It was immediately replaced with a top of the line Lutron light switch and dimmer.

The only other issue during your stay was that the dishwasher was not working. This was brought to my attention by the previous guests who checked out the same day you checked in. This could not be repaired in time before your arrival. My apologies. After your check out with a few days between the next guest coming, the dishwasher was replaced with a brand new Bosch dishwasher.

It was also an unusual situation where I had to leave my car in the driveway for the weekend of your stay. I made sure that there was still room to park your vehicle as well however.

For the inconveniences during your stay, I am willing to offer you a free nights stay if you come back to Los Angeles.

All the best and my apologies again. All measures have been taken to correct the issues you mentioned.

Cozy, quiet, close to everything - great location!

We came from Europe for a 2 weeks vacation in California - out of which we spent 9 nights at Timo's house. The top 3 qualities of this property are, in my opinion: 1. the location of the house - close to all the attractions in LA area (Disneyland, beaches, Hollywood, fashion outlets etc.), in a quiet and safe place; 2. the house itself - very nice, cozy, with personality; 3. last, but definitely not least, the excellent communication with the owner, his professionalism and rapid response to our questions.
Everything was functioning exactely as described and everything was clean. The description of the house is correct, it looks as described on the site. I must recognize that at the beginning I was a bit reticent about renting someone's home, and not a property which is exclusively for rental - but it is fine, as you don't interfere with the owner's stuff. Wi-Fi is excellent - very important for us!
We really enjoyed the fact that very close to the house it's a 24/7 shop where you can buy your coffee anytime and we enjoyed ours at the (very!) early morning hours the first days when we were jetlagging. I suppose that this kind of store is quite common in the States, but for us it was nice to discover it!
Bottom line: staying at Timo's was a pleasure. We would definitely come again and would recommend the place to friends. The damage deposit was refunded the next day after we left. Excellent vacation.

Great home for groups

We have stayed twice now at Timo's home in Culver City, with very good results both times. He has a very keen eye for decor: the furniture, kitchen design, and other appointments are all beautiful and modern. The layout is very conducive to housing medium-sized groups without people being on top of each other. Privacy is easily found if sought. Yet the large living room also accommodates group time, with a projection TV for watching movies or ball games together. The several bathrooms make coexistence in a large group much easier than if sharing just one or two. The two couches in the living room make excellent single beds, and if you need to use Timo's air mattresses they self-inflate very quickly.

The kitchen is an important part of traveling for our group of friends, and this one does not disappoint. We've easily prepared meals that answer stringent and differing dietary needs that result in six different menus. It's one thing to cook for six people but another to cook six different menus for each meal--but we pull it off every time at Timo's. Meals can be shared around the large kitchen table or in the living room or outside in the back yard at the patio furniture.

The location is perfect: the house sits in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You're very close to the freeway yet don't hear any traffic noise. There are a few grocery stores very close, as well as a Best Buy and a Target if you find you've forgotten something at home. Other communities like Marina del Rey, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica are also a short-ish drive away on the freeway. Check Urban Spoon for the restaurants to fit your needs.

Spacious, clean, and relaxing, Timo's home is a fantastic choice for groups spending time in L.A. He is fast to respond to queries, although you probably won't have any: he has written extensive visitor instructions to cover most anything that will come up. We love it every time and we'll definitely come back!

Great location and beautiful spacious home!

Me and 5 friends stayed in the home in early October for about one week and found the property to be everything we wanted and then some! Very comfortable and spacious, great access to the freeways to go everywhere in LA, and also great just for hanging out, barbecuing and enjoying the great So Cal weather. The beds were comfortable for everyone and the master bathroom and steam shower is just great! The owner made check-in and check-out very easy for us and we would stay there again for sure when coming to LA! Thanks for everything and we hope to be back soon!

Nice sleeping place in a great location- nothing more

I was the planer for a trip for me and my in laws to visit LA. We were 6 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. My criteria for picking a house was to have at least 3 rooms which lead me to this house. The house was one of the lowest price in the heart of LA. I figured that the third room was an office and I was planing to use it as a room by bringing our own air mattress with us.

The first surprise was that the house in pictures is a lot better than the reality; the rooms look bigger, the details look cleaner and brighter. The office is very small that the air mattress didn't fit. The master bed room is nice, but the 2nd room is very small but do its job of being a sleeping place and the new bed is very comfortable.

The worst part in my point of view was the lack of focus on details, you don't feel that the house is prepared to welcome you! The refrigerator was full with food and we had to move it to find a place for ours. (the food include a soda cup! not even a bottle) which gave us a creepy feeling about the cleanness of the house. We kept asking our selves if the beddings were washed or not! Or did he forgot to do that too! His stuff was every where in the rooms and bathrooms etc, as expensive watches and that made my mother in law worried about if something went missing or he thought something was in the house and it wasn't!

On our trip my mother in law was motivated to cook in the house we stayed in before this one, but she couldn't use the utilities with the feeling that it might not be clean and its someone else stuff. My suggestion that he can gather his stuff and lock it inside the master room closet that the arrivals feels that they have the house for themselves.

The lighting switches are not working properly, they kept turning on and off. We tried to use the printer in the office where it is mention in the description that we can but the PC didn't work. I tried to use the data show with Netflix in the living room but I didn't bring my HDMI wire and I couldn't find one. During the day we couldn't use the living room which were being used as a sleeping room for others.

At the end, the 4 nights passed. We had 100% of our deposit back. We enjoyed LA.

What we end up with this place might be perfect for someone who is planing to us it only for sleeping, but it is not a 5 star sleeping hotel.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the honest review on your stay and everything will be done to make the necessary changes for future guests. I can assure you that, yes of course all the sheets, towels, linens provided were freshly washed for you and the entire house was cleaned. The cleaning crew was supposed to clean out the refrigerator as well and I will make SURE that in the future they always do.

I wish I had been notified of your difficulties using the computer as I would have made sure that you had access to that because it is working OK. I contacted you numerous times during the stay to ensure everything was OK, and I was never told about this or anything else, so I had no way to know what was wrong or needed my attention.

Locks have now been installed on a closet door and a couple cabinets to put some personal belongings away. The description mentions that I do live in the house when renters are not there, so of course it is difficult to put everything away. The benefit to renters is that many of the basic things that you need during a stay do not need to be purchased. (Bottled water for guests, salt & pepper, spices, etc)

Should you be coming back to LA at some point, I will gladly give you a one night complimentary stay so that you can enjoy the home with the changes which you asked about and have been completed.
