Montisi is a small ridge top village south of Florence, in the Siena province. The village is surrounded by olive groves and makes for a good base from which to visit Siena, Florence, and the many ancient hilltop villages in Tuscany. Although you can reach Montisi by bus, getting there by car is the most convenient way, plus the twisty, winding mountainous road to it is a thrill to drive.
