Photos and Description of the Charente vacation house rental 5 bedroom 4 bathroom house with very large kitchen and living room

L'Ecole is a stunning property with lots of character and space. It has been extensively furnished, as it has been used solely as our holiday home for the past 3 years. The large airy kitchen with windows to both aspects has everything you would wish for, including an American Fridge Freezer, which dispenses ice - lovely for all those hot days when you need ice on tap, dishwasher and a range oven. There is also a separate Utility Room, with a washing machine, additional dishwasher and large fridge. The Lounge, again is very large,with a wood burner, Satellite TV, Video/DVD player and Hi Fi. There is a good selection of Videos and DVDs. All 5 bedrooms have been furnished to a high standard with good quality beds and mattresses. The large garden has a decked area with a 5-burner BBQ, with a paddock area to the side and the pool is 30'x15'. We love our home and like to believe that those who visit it will love it as much as our family and friends do.

L'Ecole, which is situated in Poursac, just 7 minutes off the N10, was originally the old school for the surrounding areas. It is situated 3 kms from the lovely and picturesque village of Verteuil-sur-Charante, with its beautiful castle. Verteuil has all the local amenities you require, including 3 very good restaurants, two with weekly entertainment. Ruffec the main town is situated just 10 minutes drive, where you will find three Supermarkets including Lidl, as well as a twice weekly market on a Wednesday and Saturday. Just outside the village of Verteuil and on the way to Ruffec you will find the Aire de Rejallant, a lovely area where children can feed the ducks and have a paddle in its clear water, play and kick a ball around in the park. There is also a good restaurant should you decide to have lunch out. Certain months of the year you can also hire canoes. If you wish to go further afield then a must is La Valle des Singes where you will see Monkeys in a natural habitat.

  • DEPOSITS: 25% on booking (non refundable) Balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival date, together with £350 Security Deposit, which will be returned within 2 weeks of your departure, subject to a satisfactory property inspection. Payment can be made by Paypal, or cheque. Upon receipt of your booking form an email will be sent with an invoice and rental contract. The booking will be confirmed upon receipt of the agreed amount and signed rental contract. Upon receipt of cleared funds for final payment and Security/Damage deposit, full details of how to get to the property together with collection of keys will be sent to you.

WHATS INCLUDED: All Bedlinen, Towels, Tea towels and Dishcloths are provided. You are free to use the washing machine and dishwasher, but please provide your own powder/tablets. For a 2 week stay we will arrange for a change of bedlinen and towels at the end of the 1st week. If you require any other cleaning, during your stay then please request this, prior to your arrival, which we will arrange, at your cost.

SUITABLE FOR:: Due to the size and amenities of our property it would be suitable for 2 or 3 families depending on number of children, or 5 couples. The En-suite to the Master Bedroom is a full bathroom as is the Main Bathroom. The other two are En-suite Shower rooms, which are attached to the two bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Both these shower rooms are a good size with a W.C. and Handbasin.

REQUEST: We love our holiday home, as do our family and friends. In order to ensure that we do not have to put personal items away, which would then take away the 'special features' of our house, we respectfully request that all Guests are respectful and treat our home as they would their own. We have been told by many people, that pictures do not justify the uniqueness of this property or the homely and welcoming feel you experience.
