Andarinas is our self-contained, non-smoking, self-catering apartment within our 200 year old traditional stone house & sleeps up to 4, but we recommend 2. You entry into a small hallway, with the shower room and kitchen on either side. This hallway opens out into the open plan dining and living area, which has exposed stonework features and traditional tiled flooring. The living area has a corner sofa bed that opens to a generous double bed, whilst there is seating for 4 at the rustic style table. The main bedroom is small but cosy and is fitted with two single pine beds, a small wardrobe and bedside cabinet. A wide selection of tourist maps and information is provided as well as a smaller selection of books and DVD which you are welcome to borrow. The kitchen opens onto the dining area, and has a full size electric oven, a two ring electric hob, extractor fan, fridge, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. Hopefully, everything you need is supplied including bedding and towels.

Andarinas is located between to the market towns of Pola De Siero and La Felguera, both within an easy drive, where the train can be used to explore the North coast from Santander to the far end of Galicia. The two major cities in Asturias, Oviedo and Gijon are a twenty minute drive. We are within thirty minutes of both a range of beaches, and hill and mountain walking routes.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Our prices DO NOT increase for half-term breaks as we feel the increased flights costs you face are enough!
    We also offer those working in compulsory education a reduction by charging the previous months prices during July and August..so a week in July would be 420€ and fortnight 770€, in August 455€ and 840€, a substantial saving.

    If booking in advance, we request a non-refundable down payment to secure your booking. We also reserve the right to ask for a small returnable breakables deposit. We ask that payment is made in full at least a month before arrival.

    Payments in UKP can be made to a UK bank account at the current exchange rate. Payment made in Euros will only be accepted by electronic bank transfer due to high bank charges in Spain.

    Bed linen, towels, electricity and a welcome pack are included in the price. Heating will be charged for additionally if required whilst not on in the main house.
  • A deposit of 100€ should be made in order to secure your booking.
    Full payment should be made at least one month before your booking starts, we prefer this to be by bank transfer or by pay pal.
  • Cancellations:
    In the case of cancellation greater than a month before arrival, we would not refund the deposit of 100€.
    For cancellations between a month to 1 week beforehand, we would refund 50% of your payment and for cancellations of less than a weeks notice, we would not offer a refund.

    We would recommend that you check your travel insurance provides cancellation cover in any case.

Notes: You are welcome to share our large garden with us, and have the shared use of the patio/ outdoor dining area. The garden contains a great wooden play area for younger children, which is used at your own risk. We can also supply some children's toys and equipment on request.

Walking holidays: Siero has several marked walking routes, ranging from easy 3 km strolls to the slightly more challenging 26 km circular 'Ruta minera de jovellanos', that passes the regions most important mining areas, visiting mines, mills, chapels and grand houses and can be started from the house. Ruta de carbon: a 6 km easy walk, that can be started from Carbayin and forms part of the Ruta minera de jovellanos. El camino de santiago: this world famous route passes through much of Asturias and can be joined in Pola de Siero or El Berron. Senda Les Casuques - Picu Fariu: A 11 km, 6 hr route, starting from above Pola De Siero at Ordiales, passing through woodland and visiting the church of San Pedro de Collada. We can provide the services of an English speaking certified walking guide (at additional cost) if required for those wanting to explore off the beaten track!

Ruta del Alba: We have recently discovered the Ruta del Alba, a beautiful 14 km walk through the Redes natural park, the first part of which is pushchair and wheelchair friendly. It starts from the amazingly old fashioned village of Soto de Agues, a 45 min drive from Andarinas, worth a visit in itself, and follows the course of the river Alba for 7.2 kms before returning along the same path. There are picnic tables near the fishery and access to the river for paddling after 1.5 kms, a great way of getting you children moving!
