Tor Farm Meadow View Lodge, Cheddar, Somerset

One word says it all............fantastic!
As a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children aged 10 and under) we opted for the Meadow View lodge which sleeps up to 7 but realistically 5 was very comfortable - my wife and I in the main bedroom with en-suite bathroom, our 2 girls in the 2nd bedroom and our son slept in the double bed in the lounge/kitchen area and stored his clothes etc in the girls bedroom.
Accommodation was excellent, spacious, modern and very clean. Kids especially loved the spa bath which has built in lights that change colour.
Hamper on arrival with some self catering essentials (most from local local suppliers) was a nice touch.
Private decking area with hot tub and bbq which looks out over the Somerset countryside was great for relaxing after a busy day out and about with the kids - hot tub kept the kids entertained for hours on end allowing my wife and I to sit back and relax.
Our lodge was one of 4 which sits in the grounds of the former farmhouse which itself is now largely a guesthouse. The grounds are very nicely laid out with fruit trees in the common area and paths whcih wind their way through the lodges.
There is a small outdoor heated pool in a courtyard setting with deckchairs and open views to the countryside. Great for cooling off on a hot day although we did find that it was just a touch cooler than we would have liked.
Tor Farm is only a couple of miles from the main road between Cheddar and Wells which have all you need for shopping etc but far enough away to feel as though you're away from it all - very peaceful indeed. We drove down from Scotland but Bristol airport is only about a 30 minutes drive away.
Plenty to do within an hours drive - we vsited Cheddar Gorge, The Wookey Hole, The Roman Baths, Longleat Safari Park and Wells during the week that we stayed but could easily have filled out 2 weeks of 'things to do'.
Had many a chat with David (the owner) and both he and Caroline were very helpful and kept everything shipshape.
Would thoroughly recommend Tor Farm either for a short break or 1-2 week break for couples or families looking for something a bit different with a bit of luxury thrown in.
Hope to be back again and have already recommended to family and friends.

Owner's Response: Hi
Thanks for the review.
Just to put things straight- there is no guesthouse on the site. Just four luxury lodges and 1 large five bedroom holiday cottage.
