Great house and location - owners were great people to deal with!

We rented this home for two weeks during Christmas 2012 for a family reunion. As the one family member who to put this trip together, it was a little daunting to organize it and keep the whole crew happy but I am happy to say I “knocked it out the park’ by choosing Jose’s home. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children we all had a great time. We had other relatives satying nearby, so we used the house to host Christmas and New Years gatherings an everyone was quite impressed.
The home was well maintained and nicely equipped. The pool area and backyard were very pleasant to hang out at and barbeque, which was basically what I was there to do for two weeks. Jose hooked us up with fishing rods and I was able to show the kids how to fish. A kayak was available as well for our use.
As a first time user of VRBO, I was a little hesitant to rent as the experience I had from contacting other owners did not give me a good feel. But after speaking to Jose, I was reassured. As I was not dealing with a realtor or out-of-town owner, but to an owner that lived at this home for years (knew the ins- and outs of the home and where the fish live) and resided nearby in case we had any questions or concerns. As we were an extra child or two the ideal capacity of the house, Jose and his wife Denise gladly took us in and made a great effort to fit us all in comfortably.
As for the location, this property is five minutes from the beach and a good 15 minutes fro John U Lloyd Park in Dania, one of my favorite beaches as it the few beaches around lined by trees, not condos. As we had relatives staying all over, we found it to be a very centric place, 35 minutes to South Beach, 45 minutes to Boca. We were able to drive down to Miami often for it's attractions but were happy to not stay there. Most of our relatives were from abroad, so the proximity to Aventura Mall and all the shopping was an added plus. I took care of the grilling and beer, so being 2 minutes away from Walmart, Publix and Win-Dixie was a plus. Costco, Target and Whole Foods also were just a little bit farter down the road.
I highly reccomend this property and hope to come back there one day!
