A wonderful house for beautiful, quiet scenery and cozy relaxation.
I live in New York City and work as an administrator for the New York City Department of Education. I've thoroughly enjoyed this house for over 20 years. I chose it for it's beautiful New England appeal and prime location in the quiet and beautiful New Milford Bay area.

This picturesque house is located in an attractive community with easy access to a private community beach and boat docks.
Candlewood Lake is the largest lake in Connecticut and one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States, spanning 8.4 square miles with 86 miles of shoreline.
That was the best New Year Eve I ever had . the house its bigger than its looks on the photos, can easily accommodate 8 ppl. this place has so much character , beautifully decorated. close to the milford town .
We enjoyed our stay on Candlewood Lake while staying in this house. It is large enough to accommodate six to eight people. Our favorite room was the screened in porch which had a good view of the lake. The community beach is just a short walk from the house.
When we entered this magnificent house, me, my husband and a friend, we all said: “Heavens! We rented a house and got a home! "In every detail, the owner made us feel welcome, from little notes lying around the house, with guidelines, for example, on how to best use the electrical appliances, to the rooms decorated with delicate pieces of furniture and keepsakes that seemed to be from family or old trips of whom lived there. Each bedroom, each room seems to have a personality, with discrete and elegant artwork. The magnificent stylized, fantasy "cottage”, on the first floor opposite to the pool table is an experience apart. And even in the late fall, we loved to use the balcony on the second floor that overlooks the magnificent lake in front of the house.
The kitchen is huge and inviting, inspiring us happy conversations, in family, while a meal is prepared or simply savoring a takeout.
In the middle of our stay we hosted a couple of friends of ours. He, an architect; she a Jungian psychologist (the house sleeps six people comfortably). For her and for me who am also an admirer of the psychiatrist, psychologist and Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung, the memory of "The house by the lake" where Dr. Jung used to spend holiday periods especially in his old age, in Zurich, arose immediately.
As a significant part of our work can be done remotely, we stayed two months in this heavenly place. We had never stayed outside of Brazil for so long, but homesickness was hardly felt, because of the comfort, convenience and beauty of the place and its surroundings. The helpful and pragmatic attitude of the owner made our stay even more enjoyable, despite ever meeting us personally, respecting our privacy.
The three of us strongly recommend renting this house for rest, leisure, study, or work - because, for our part, we did a bit of the four things, very happy with our stay in it!

We have family in the area that doesn't have room for us, so we needed a place to stay for a week last fall. We were pleased with the location of the property, and how we had everything we needed while there. Everything was clean and well maintained and the place was as described or better. We had plenty of room for our family (including our family in the area) for meals and spending time. Communication with the owner was very smooth and easy. Will seriously consider renting this house in the future!
I grew up in Brookfield and now live in IL. Our family is too large for my mom to host the holidays so we decided to rent a house big enough for everyone. The open layout of this home was ideal for 12 family members to socialize and relax on Christmas day. The kitchen had most of the necessary pots, pans, and dishes needed so I just borrowed extra from mom. The water pressure in the upstairs shower was lacking but the downstairs shower worked great! There were plenty of towels and pillows and I loved the LG washer/dryer. Excellect location, close to grocery store and restaurants. Owner was very accommodating and we would definitely rent this home again! My family was very impressed that we found such great accommodations!
