To start, your cabin is breath-taking; absolutely stunning! We immediately felt at home. Your delightful welcome package was much appreciated. The combination of the absolute cozy atmosphere, the amazing view, the nature to cure our souls was astounding. Being here just the first night- all,of us- the stress just MELTED AWAY! I want to thank you, in words that I cannot seem to being together, for how much this cabin, Bumble Bee Cabin, really has done for us so far in our stay here. This is truly super blurb :) Jess
This was our second trip there. We fell in love with it the first time we stayed. It was perfect...clean, well maintained and even stocked with all the basic supplies. The hot tub was fabulous! Loved the variety of games stocked there too...we even brought trivial pursuit with us this time to leave there for future guests. The little town of Murphy is very nice...not touristy either, which we appreciated. I would recommend this to anyone!
My Wife and I stayed at the cabin for my Birthday Weekend. It was amazing. First pulling in I was a little put off by all the cabins in the area, But at that time most were empty and and it was so peaceful and private. Cabin had everything We needed. Made most of our meals there only eating lunch out. There is a place right down the road which is a must to eat at. About 2 miles from entrance toward Tennessee. Would and will in the near future stay again. PS Hot tub is great:)
We loved this cabin and its location. It was the perfect size for us and had a very homey feel to it. Gas logs were fabulous for heat! Neighborhood area is beautiful and a great place for morning walks. The small fenced in area around the property was a wonderful asset. Just opened the door and our dog ran right out! She loved exploring the area and the mountain air too! Cabin is exactly as advertised. We would definitely stay here again.
This cabin is a great little place to stay. The check in process was very easy. The cabin was very clean. The hot tub was a little problematic. It kept losing heat during use. I'm sure there's a trick to keep it hot but no instructions were provided. The beds are fantastic. The kitchen has everything you need. With the exception of a few small suggestions we loved this cabin. Those being... lighting for the grill area. I was cooking in pitch blackness at 5:30 pm.... same for the fire pit area. Also while I understand folks don't come to the mountains to watch TV... our stay was plagued by lots of rain and we wanted to watch a movie... the TV in the cabin is smaller than my laptop. It would be nice if it were just a bit larger. Speaking of laptops though the WiFi was excellent. All in all this cabin was exactly as advertised and the great reviews are well deserved. The owner was very quick to respond when contacted. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary on our recent stay at Bumble Bee Hideaway. We were not disappointed! This quiet, peaceful, CLEAN atmosphere recharged our batteries for sure!!!! The kitchen is well equipped so we were able to spend most of our time at the cabin, preparing our food right there. Such a delightful way to begin our morning with a cup of coffee in the hot tub! We took a nice long walk one morning. Ahhhh, the simplicity and quiet of spending time together to refresh and reconnect with one another. We'll be back....and it won't be 41 years later! Thanks Ken and Cindy for making our experience so very enjoyable. Chris and Charlie Elliotte
This was by far the nicest cabin I have stayed in. We were close enough to go on adventures yet far enough out of town to have quiet time, which we relished. All of the amenities of home, without the hustle and bustle. We thought we were in Heaven. I cannot recommend this enough!
Murphy, North Carolina, is the county seat of Cherokee County located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Murphy is an old town with its origin dating back to 1839. Downtown is beautiful with tree lined streets and many historic buildings restored to their original state. Murphy has restaurants, many unique shops, and other interesting establishments all within walking distance in the heart of town.
Recreational activities are unlimited from local trout streams to mountain biking. Hiwassee Lake is considered one of the most beautiful in the state. Murphy offers something for every sports enthusiast.
If you are looking for a beautiful small town in the mountains, look no further. Murphy with its population of 1700 people resembles a Norman Rockwell painting. It is indeed, small town life at the very best. We look forward to seeing you!
