Delightful, spacious cottage recently renovated to an extremely high standard. Ground floor comprises large living room, dining room, kitchen and shower room with w.c. Upstairs is large double room, two twin rooms and a family bathroom. Enclosed garden. Set in the beautiful quiet village of Mapledurham, this cottage is an absolute delight. Oil fired central heating throughout, all linen provided at no extra charge. Sorry no pets allowed.

Mapledurham Village: The Gardens is situated in the delightful village of Mapledurham. The village is very picturesque and charming yet only a few miles from Reading with excellant shopping facilites. Mapledurham House is an Elizabethan mansion and is open to the public at weekends throughout the summer. Also at Mapledurham is the last working watermill on the river Thames, still producing flour today and is also open to the public at weekends throughout the summer.

We also have nine other holiday cottages dotted around the estate. These sleep between 2 and 6 people and are all graded to the Tourist Board standards.

Golf: Close by are two golf courses. Caversham Heath Golf Ltd is a championshop course and can be contacted on 0118 9478600. Mapledurham Golf Course is a Pay as You Play Course and can be contacted on 0118 9463353

Gardens which don't live up to the name

The cottage is quite big and was clean on arrival.
However it is decorated and furnished to a basic standard, some indications of damp on the old stone walls.
This could be a fabulous house but fails to deliver there is a large garden which is not much more than a cut field.
The ladies in the office where pleasant and helpful and it's very quiet peaceful and pretty place, great for walks and the local area is teeming with wildlife
If you think you will be by proxy staying at a stately home you will be disapointed you will have to pay to visit the house and mill the same as the general public indeed we where asked for £1 to walk along the river.
We used it as a base to visit London, Windsor , Bath etc.
Nothing about it spoiled our Holiday but we did expect something a little better for the money.

Fantastic Rental

Fantastic place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town but only a 10 min drive and your back there. Perfect spaious cottage for 6, well equipped kitchen with dining table in for a good catch up with friends.

Cannot say anything bad about this property, it really suited what we wanted and will proberly use it again.
