About Linda Sharpe
Hi! My name is Linda Sharpe (the one in pink). My sister is Sue Blevins. We grew up in this house and still use it for vacations and family gatherings. Sue still lives within a couple of miles of the house and is close by if needed. We love our country house and do our best to make it warm and inviting for you. Between the two of us we have five children and ten grandchildren. Needless to say, when we are all there the house is bursting at the seams and we love every minute of it!!
Why Linda Sharpe chose Damascus
Our house is very special to us. It was passed to us from our mom and dad - Jess and Mezelle Greer. We have remodeled it with love and dedicated it to them. Although we both have our own homes, this one will always remain special. Our parents worked all their lives to build and pay for it, so we lovingly share it and our memories with you.
What makes this cottage unique
This is a quiet, country home where visitors can kick back and enjoy themselves and also enjoy the simple country life of hiking, fishing, biking, picnicking......together with the beautiful scenery, various festivals which are frequent in this area, and of course...the Virginia Creeper Trail. Look for visits from the various wildlife which comes around frequently. There is deer, turkeys, and a bear that wanders around from time to time. Take some time to just sit in the enclosed front porch and marvel at the peace of our country home.
Guestbook comments from the manager
Linda and Sue, You certainly have a cozy, welcoming little cottage here! Reminds me of my grandparents home long time ago without the remodeling you have done! We've spent lots of time on the Creeper Trail (on foot), enjoyed meeting another hiker couple from Italy who had been on the AT 40 days! Having just finished a book "There Are Mountains to Climb" about a woman doing it alone in 1994, I was fascinated to meet them! Such a relaxing front porch. I think the things I enjoyed most was the wonderful fresh, honey suckle-laden mountain air & wild rose smell! Heavenly! And since we live just across from a dairy farm, it was especially welcomed. Loved your pictures, colors, country touches and us cooking in the kitchen. I felt at home! Oh and 2 turkeys and about 20 babies took their family walking across the top of the back yard and to the road at 7:15 am--delightful!
