Escape the winter weather at this beautiful private home on desirable Tierra Verde. Perfect for a seasonal rental. The house is in a quiet, residential neighborhood one block off of the main bayway on Tierra Verde. Enjoy the privacy of your own pool, the sunset views from the deck, the luxury of a gourmet kitchen complete with a Wolf range, a comfortable great room and even a baby grand piano. The house has a split floor plan with the master bedroom and bath on one end and two guest rooms that share the second bath on the other end. All three bedrooms have queen beds with quality sheets and pillows. The house is on a canal with easy water access to Tampa Bay, the salt water flats around Fort De Soto Park, and the ICW. We have a dock (the use of a boat lift can be discussed) and will include the use of three kayaks (one double and two singles).
Tom and I are originally from Wisconsin and came to Florida to escape the winters after our kids left home for college. We've spent the last eight years exploring Florida by road and by boat, enjoying the beaches, sunshine, marinas, and wildlife that Florida has to offer. Our kids have now both moved to California so we've decided to spend part of our year closer to them. This leaves our Tierra Verde house available part of the year and it seemed a shame for it to sit empty. Better that another lucky couple use it while they discover the wonders of Florida.
Tom and I owned a condo on the bayway, but missed the privacy of a single family home. After searching for a year, we found this house and both instantly fell in love. The house has a tremendous feel to it that is apparent as soon as you enter the front door. And the back yard is my favorite because of the lush landscaping, the pool, and the water/sunset view. It's the perfect sized house for us and it has a comfortable layout that offers us the privacy we like when we have overnight guests.
One of the main reasons we chose Tierra Verde over any other part of Florida is because of Fort De Soto Park. Being avid bikers, we love being able to access the park's safe bike paths right from our house. Also, this area is the only part of the west coast of FL where the freeway comes so close to the beach, allowing one to live near the beach while still having easy access via I275 to St. Petersburg and Tampa and all of the conveniences, restaurants, shops, and culture that they offer.
Tierra Verde is a barrier island that includes Fort De Soto Park, voted best beach in American in 2007. Walk the beach, fish off of the pier, bike or roller blade along the miles of bike paths or tour the old fort, all at your fingertips just down the bayway. St. Pete's Beach and Pass-a-Grille are a mere five minutes away, downtown St. Petersburg is an easy ten-minute drive, Tampa (including the airport) is 25-30 minutes due north on I-275, and Sarasota is 45 minutes south. Orlando and Disney are about an hour and a half north.
