The fishing is wonderful! If fresh lobster and conch are something you are looking for, you have come to the right place! We are half mile south of three of the best ocean front restaurants in Belize. Or go into the village and eat at one of the local restaurants and enjoy a local cultural “Garifuna” dish.

Good Morning Doug,
We arrived back home late last night and I just wanted to let you know that, despite the weather (we were hoping it would be the hot, sunshine that we lack in the winter months) we had an awesome time. The home was all we needed and Anthony, Gil and Dana were very helpful. We found that the people of Belize that we encountered were all so friendly. I want to thank you for all your help with our trip, especially the directions and advise on restaurants. That was all extremely helpful and made our holiday that much easier. We realized that it wasn't the most brilliant idea to travel from the Belize airport in the dark and rain, but it did add to the adventure of it all and there we realized how helpful and friendly the people of Belize were, we stopped a lot and asked directions to make sure we were still on the right track :)
The snorkelling was awesome (except I got a 'bit' of motion sickness) Anthony set us up with Bert and Marley and they were wonderful - especially with dealing with a sticky on the boat.
:( . We took a trip out to Antelope Falls and hiked that, also awesome! We drove out to Caves Branch jungle lodge, took in a little bit to eat and drink there, saw the cheese factory and bought some of their cheese, walked through the botanical garden. So, so beautiful.
We did cook some of our own meals, and had Dana make us a meal. We ate at the Hamanasi for breakfast a couple of times, supper at the Barracuda, Chef Robs, Love on the Rocks, Driftwood pizza, Hopkins Bay Resort and the Curve Bar at the Marina. All of them were very good. Too bad the weather did not lend itself to better water time, otherwise we would have loved to spend more time in the ocean. Walks on the beach are always great too.
And of course, can't forget Caitlin's Bakery :)
Thanks again, and I'm sure we will be back some time – Joyce
Our families are from the North Texas area and we fell in love with Hopkins when working in the area with a local missions group! Whether it is fishing, hiking, kayaking or just relaxing on the beach. Since first coming to Hopkins in 2011, we have returned again and again to enjoy the laid back vibe of the town. We feel that Hopkins is a great location for your Belizean adventures to begin.
Hopkins was a natural choice for us. The area is beautiful, the people are fantastic and the local restaurants are just down the beach. If you are looking for a relaxed, laid back town, Hopkins fits the bill perfectly.
Biama House is the one of the only duplex homes in Hopkins. The house is perfect for large groups that want to rent both side, but also private enough for separate families to enjoy their time on the Caribbean Sea without worrying about feeling crowded. Biama House's units are separated by a thick concrete wall ensuring your total privacy. Each unit has it's own private balcony overlooking the sea off the master bedroom, and a tile porch at beach level.
Hopkins is a small fishing village with an inviting, laid back vibe. This village is quaint and offers a great opportunity to unplug and enjoy nature. Local restaurants and shops will give you an awesome opportunity to enjoy the local culture. Make sure you check out the cave tubing at Jaguar's Paw and the zipline at Mama Noots. The Mayan ruins are far and are well worth the visit!
