You get what you pay for.
This was a nice house and easy to find. The house was clean, but like the other reviews the living room furniture was a little uncomfortable. This house did have a great location, right in the middle of a lot of the activities on the east side of the island. We were a little disappointed that the grill was under the house and would have to pull it out to use it if it wasn't all rusted out. I was also really disappointed about the ocean. The ad stated that the beach was a block away. However, there is no public access. So if you are OK with trespassing (and we were!) there are trails on some of the undeveloped lots. I picked this house based on the fact that the house was close to the ocean. I knew that there wouldn't be a beach, but was disappointed that there was no access to the ocean.

Owner's Response: Aloha Jessica,
I'm sorry that you're disappointed. All of the ocean cliffs/beaches in Hawaii is public access, but yes, you do have to be careful where and how you access the ocean cliffs. There is no problem with accessing undeveloped lots to get to the ocean's edge.
If I had known there was a problem with the BBQ grill, a quick call to us and I could have had that taken care of for you in a jiffy. Being located locally, we can and do respond to our guests needs asap.
Mahalo for your review and we hope that you will consider coming to see us again.
Aloha,
Mark and Ron with Hawaiian Paradise Vacation Rentals
