Beach:
The closest beach is a sandy beach 500 metres away. Not far from this small beach there is also a rocky bay. Being close to the sea is nice both in summer and in winter, because in summer you can swim and subathe, and in winter you can walk and explore the cliffs close by, or have a barbeque by the sea on a blanket, or read a book.
Since Marsaskala is a small seaside town you can swim practically everywhere all along the shore! But there is more than beaches in Malta, since we have been inhabitated since 5000 BC. There are various artefacts from different periods - from the megalithic temples http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C4%A6a%C4%A1ar_Qim to the forts built by the Knights http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_St._Angelo , from Popeye village to Blue lagoon.
