About Suzanne Pope

I came to Boulder 30 years ago to complete my PhD at University of Colorado. Needless to say, I fell in love with the mountains, the canyon, the rivers, and the town. I established my psychology practice here and originally lived in this beautiful property on West Pearl Street. It was very special even then because of the easy access in all directions to everything I loved...rivers, bike trails, canyon, and beautiful, beautiful town. It has only become even more gorgeous with time. Because I love horses too, I eventually moved to an equally beautiful small farm north of Boulder where I train and ride my horses every chance I get. I am happy to share with you all that I know as a local about Boulder city and the surrounding mountain areas. We are very lucky to live here and I am happy to share it with anyone who appreciates all that this part of the country has to offer.

Suzanne Pope purchased this house in 1980

Why Suzanne Pope chose Boulder

Location: no need for a car, walking distance to trails and Boulder Canyon, bike path, Boulder Creek, Mount Sanitas, and the famous Pearl Street Mall. One block from the Boulder Creek bike path and extensive pedestrian/bike path system that winds throughout all of Boulder.Whether you want to shop on Pearl Street Mall or hike up Boulder Canyon, this cottage is set right in the middle of it all. In addition, due to the fact that it is on West Pearl, you are able to enjoy all of the attractions of Downtown Boulder without the late night noise. It features a beautifully landscaped yard, perfect morning coffee or late night reflections. The second story is shaded by trees, which create a sense of privacy and tranquility. The large second floor deck is furnished with a table and umbrella and offers a peaceful place to eat meals or play games. This property offers nearly 950 square feet for less than the average hotel room in this downtown location. The newly renovated kitchen offers full appliances, granite counter tops, and custom cabinets. This property gives you the space to spread out, the location of Downtown Boulder, and the quiet tranquility to relax as you look at the Flatirons from your bedroom window.

Fabulous, Relaxing, Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

I really cannot say enough about this fabulous property: incredibly comfortable beds, plush towels, just the right shower pressure, a perfectly equipped kitchen for cooks, and the fountains in the courtyard...so tranquil. And the location!!! Located blocks from Pearl Street with cafes, restaurants and shops, and one block from the Boulder Creek walking and biking path reduced our driving around Boulder to a minimum. We look forward to our next stay! Thank you so much, Suzanne!

Wonderful Time

  • 5 of 5

My fiancee and I hard a hard time leaving your humble abode. It was perfect for us being so close to Pearl Street since we had plenty of exploring to do, but also had everything we needed to just hang out at home.. Even though its so close to Pearl, its location is nice and even secluded within its own little spot.

This was also the trip where I popped the question to my girlfriend of almost 4 years to which her response was 'yes' and as such is now my fiance. So this whole experience will always make this a special location for us that I'm sure we will be back too soon enough. Thanks for the stay!

Clean, charming, well equipped.

  • 5 of 5

The Carriage House is enchanting. We stayed for 8 days in June and were delighted with our choice. This property is as described. We particularly liked the spacious deck and the small pretty garden. The kitchen is very well equipped and had everything we needed. The spiral staircase added charm. We enjoyed using the barbeque and dined at the large table on the deck several evenings. The master bed is large and high off the floor. We rigged the curtain across the skylight above the bed and slept very well. We didn't use the downstairs bedroom which has a slightly smaller bed. The washing machine and drier were great for us too. There is a small ironing board and an iron which are not mentioned in the property description. Suzanne provided informative email communication during the booking process and was attentive to our needs after our delayed arrival. The apartment is conveniently located for central Boulder and within easy walking distance of Boulder's excellent restaurants. The Boulder Creek path is a super pedestrian and cycle route. We enjoyed al fresco breakfast everyday at Spruce Confections about 200 yards away. We hope to stay again on our next visit.

Two bedroom cottage

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cottage because i was in Boulder for the University of Colorado's graduation. It was a lovely house, located about 2-3 blocks to the bakery and grocery store on Pearl Street. It is also about 5 blocks to the stores on Pearl Street. We were able to walk to everything from this location. The beds were comfortable and the house had all the comforts of home. The yard was lovely as was having a second floor deck to sit on to relax.

I briefly met the owner and she responded quickly to our request for towels, which turned out to be in a closed box in one of the bedrooms. We didn't cook but all the necessary items were there to use.

I highly recommend this cottage for its space and location.

Excellent Choice

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful place. Walking distance to all of Pearl St., University area, and Boulder hiking trails. Its only half a block to Canyon Blvd and Boulder Canyon highway.

We made the mistake of shopping before we got there... there were lots of essentials already there. Just bring food and drinks.

The upper deck was nice in the afternoon to enjoy the sun and views of the Flat Irons.

Beds, appliances, furniture, fireplace, etc were all in excellent and clean condition. It was my first time in a VRBO, my partner had been to several. She said it was the best and most nicely equipped of all. It was no more expensive than a hotel when you factor in meals eaten out and distance to and parking in Boulder.

We felt welcomed like family.

Charming and Comfortable Accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

A colleague and I stayed for a week at this lovely cottage while doing some professional training in Boulder. The house is small, but very comfortable. It was a very cold night when we arrived, but once we got the heating figured out, we were quite comfortable. It is mainly heated by an electric fireplace, which adds a very nice ambiance as well as heat. We found the kitchen appliances and cookware adequate for our needs. There is even a Bose speaker unit with great sound for your iPod! We had a problem with the dishwasher, but Suzanne and her husband were very responsive and came as soon as we called - for a temporary fix, and then replaced the dishwasher the next day. The location is great, and we had no issues with street noise. We were very comfortable and happy with our accommodations and very disappointed that it was not available on the dates we are returning in June. I'm sure the garden, patio and 2nd floor deck are wonderful in the summer. I recommend this unique and lovely home- and book well in advance, I'm sure it rents very quickly! Thanks, Suzanne! Hope to return soon.
