La Mision House Rental Photos and Description
EXOTIC SURF VIEWS from all the kitchen, dining and entertainment areas.
NFL FOOTBALL IS BACK -FALL'S COMING!
Come enjoy the comforts of your own home, sprinkled with a Baja's Charm. Plan a Summer trip on our fabulous beach. The Ocean setting of the house sports a surf view all the way to the south end of the beach. We are exactly in the middle. There is a a mile and a half of beach in front of the house. Just TEN STEPS off the patio, you sink your toes into the soft, warm sand.
Our San Diego architect took maximum advantage of the ocean setting, lining both upstairs and downstairs with 4 X 8 foot panes of glass. As a result, the Sunsets are both picturesque as well as a beautiful way to conclude your day. Winter and Spring are the best! (SEE PICTURES)
The house sleeps can sleep up to 8, but is ideal for 4 adults and three children. In the upstairs bedrooms, we have two comfortable, recently upgraded Kings. The downstairs, on the other hand, has a double, a double futon couch and a double fold-out sofa bed. The futon and sofa bed are ideal for the kids.
La Mision is a small, gated, patrolled, beach community with good restaurants close by. It is dotted with small markets, taco stands, Red Cross and a Police Station.
As you step off the patio into the soft sand, look both ways. There is a mile and a half of enjoyment in front of you. We prefer the walk to the North for privacy. It is like being on your own private island. There is never a crowd. You will just have to experience the solace and tranquility.
FOOTBALL IS HERE AGAIN HOORAY! During the NFL football season, we offer the Premium package of Sunday NFL ticket. This allows you to watch all 8 games, while just pushing the remote to have the audio for each game. Of course, you can always, just turn to the RED Zone channel' and catch every score from every game. The other TV can be tuned to a separate NFL game; however, if the wife's prefer they can have their own separate channels on the other TV. (after football, of course) We also offer numerous other sports channels when football is out of season. We just finishing Wimbledon, the British Open, and the World Cup in Brazil The Fed Ex Cup is coming soon GO BUBBA!
If you are a volleyball enthusiast, like I was, there is a court right out front on the beach. Nets are found in the beach Boogie board room at beach level. I hosted the La Fonda 2 Man Beach Tournament with ten courts in front of the house for over 10 years. Just bring your ball!
On the other hand, if you are a Surfer, we have a GOOFY FOOTED break right out front. The World renowned K-38 is just North of us, while Salasipuedes ( Hawaii type waves) and San Miguel are to the South.
We have year round activities for kids and adults. The horseback riding on the beach is more like horseback walking. It is great for kids as well as being romantic for adults at Sunset. But, do not expect lively horses. They will, however, deliver you right to the front of the house on the return trip.
At the South end of the beach there are food vendors selling all types of Mexican food. The fresh fruit and the ripe Coconuts are the most popular.

This has been our weekend home away from home for some time now. Living in San Diego, it is just a 45 minute drive from the border, down the toll road to the house. Watching the dolphins feed just before a magnificent sunset, with you favorite beverage in hand, you forget about work week that you just finished. By listening to the crashing waves as they lull you to sleep, you return to the States invigorated, refreshed and ready for a new week..
If you are looking for lots of people, loud music, and younger 18 year old bars - Rosarito (20 minutes North) will be more suited to your taste. Ensenada (25 minutes south), on the other hand, offers a large, crowded city atmosphere with a fabulous fish market, reasonable fish tacos and lots of shopping. Please, visit both nearby cities and see why we chose our quaint little spot on the beach in between them.
We have a number of restaurants within a mile. La Fonda, The Light House, Cieto Lindo, Maganas, and the La Mision Hotel.
8 miles to the North is the Baja's Finest Lobster Villiage. A whole town of Lobster restaurants. Our favorite is La Perlita. Tell Lupe that 'Ricardo from La Mision' says Hello. According to the story, a number of years ago, we built his second story with our parties.
August is Wine Country month - if you prefer a pleasant wine and cheese tasting tour, Guadalupe Valley is a scenic 25 mile drive through the hills to the south. For more intimate details of the various tastings, check with Dick.
As mentioned above, if you like football or soccer, you don't have to miss any of your NFL games. The family can enjoy the beach while you keep track of your favorite team. You can watch two or eight games at the same time.
To this day our resident Historian, Charlie Wild, 86 years young, tells us about the days before the toll road, electricity and the telephone. He says, 'Those were the good 'ol days'.
Of course, we have to imagine how we could have existed without Direct TV, the wireless internet, Gas BBQs, and our Satellite dish.
The beach is still as pristine, peaceful and uninhabited as the day we got here.
