Lanzarote:
Lanzarote is pure geology, underwater and moonlike sites, crystal clear waters, thirsty lands, palms' oasis, it is harmonic life of man and nature. Undoubtedly a land of contrasts.
It is the easternmost island of the Canary Islands, it is identified by the great amount of volcanoes that cover it due to the great volcanic activity of the early XVIII century.
Lanzarote has the Timanfaya National Park and is under the protection of Reserve of the Biosphere by Unesco. It is also an island full of culture. Six other tourist centres dedicated to visitors and more than 15 museums and art galleries supports the quality of its land and coasts.
An eternal spring, the average annual temperature is 21 º C, adorns each day the blue sky of Lanzarote and in the evening, the sky is dyed in the clear light of the moonshine.
Declared in 1993 as a Biosphere Reserve bythe United Nations Education Culture and Science Organization (UNESCO).
Playa Blanca:
Playa Blanca is situated on the south side of Lanzarote. Awarded on various occasions for its beauty, this peaceful and pleasant spot is the ideal place for the whole family to relax in.
Playa Blanca has a wide range of services: bars, restaurants, businesses… and one of the best recreational ports in Lanzarote. It is also close to the Papagayo Beaches where white sand and crystalline waters wash lap against the rocks.
Among the beaches, those of Dorada (is a 2 minute drive from the villa) and Flamingo stand out for their white sand. However, without doubt, the beaches of Papagayo lead the pack. A network of fine white sandy coves is a delight to all its visitors.
A few minutes from Playa Blanca, you can find some of the most renowned sites on the island. Timanfaya National Park, La Geria, Janubio salt flats, El Golfo (the green lagoon) and Los Hervideros.
From Playa Blanca you can ferry across to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura which takes 30 minutes.
Golf:
There are two 18-hole golf courses on the island, one is located 30 minutes from the villa (Puerto del Carmen), the other approx. 45 minutes drive (Costa Teguise). There is also a 9 hole pitch and putt course in Playa Blanca approx. 2 minutes drive.
