Three bedrooms with 1 queen, 1 full and 2 twin beds and 2 full bathrooms make for true comfort for a family. Open floor plan upstairs with living room, dining room and kitchen including updated appliances, fully stocked with anything you need to prepare a meal. Magnificent fireplace for those chilly evenings. Red Fox Inn is 1 mile up Winhall Hollow Rd., Stratton Village 10 minutes up the access road.
We purchased this wonderful townhouse when our youngest was born after having rented near Stratton for over 5 years. Our boys are 10 years apart in age and we have found skiing/snowboarding to be the perfect winter family activity. Spring, Summer and Fall are perfect for golf and biking. I grew up in So. California, hubby in Chicago and our kids on the East Coast and we are Vermonters through and through. For those days we are feeling lazy, we head to Manchester Center for outlet shopping, or driving out to Woodstock for antiquing. Great location for anything you want to do.
Grant Hanson purchased this townhome in 1997
Perfect location and wonderfully comfortable home to relax and have family fun. Quiet private community with pool and tennis court, fun shopping in quaint Manchester Center. Don't miss Zippy Chicks Consignment and Manchester Sports for great deals! Try the Hottest Buns in Town hot dog stand in front of Manchester Sport. Orvis is a great place to learn how to fly fish. Equinox in.
Views of Stratton Mtn from the deck, wonderful fireplace, Manchester outlets, fabulous Stratton Mtn skiing, swimming, tennis, Fox Stop (double shot nonfat lattes are to die for as are the pastries, eat on the deck over looking the river!).
We went to VT for Presidents Weekend and this house was perfect! We consisted of 3 couples. Two boys went snowboarding at Stratton and Bromley. Two pregnant ladies did shopping, lunch, and movies in Manchester. The other couple did crosscountry skiing at Stratton. The location was great and there was plenty to do for all of us. The house was easily accessible to everything. The pictures of this house don't do it justice. There was plenty of room for all 6 adults. The upstairs is a huge open floor plan with the kitchen, dining room, and living room. They had everything we needed for the weekend. The house was clean and comfortable with a real Vermont feel. The welcome letter and instructions made it a very relaxing getaway. We loved spending our nights by the fireplace playing board games. It was an excellent weekend and I can't say enough about this wonderful rental!!!
We were just up in Stratton last weekend with another couple and had such a wonderful time! First of all, we were so happy that we were able to take our dog with us to stay for the weekend. We first walked into the house and it was warm, clean and cozy. The owners left great instructions to start the fireplace and having that fireplace on during dinner at night just really made our trip very relaxing. Location to the village and mountain was about 5-8 minute drive, the Red Fox Inn was just a drive down the road and the market was around the corner. It snowed on Friday so snow conditions were great for the weekend. The house had everything we needed to cook a wonderful meal, not to mention nice wine glasses for our red wine. Owners had detailed instructions on anything we needed during our stay which was very helpful. Really a perfect weekend getaway, thank you for a wonderful stay!
I had a wonderful time staying at this house with my friends from 2/7-2/10. The place was very comfortable and nicely decorated, and had everything we were looking for – very clean & comfortable rooms and bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, cozy living room with a fireplace.
The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful answering all our questions, and gave us detailed instructions how to use things and where to find everything. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.
The property is located in the development, so it was great that the property management plowed the parking and a path to the door, as we were there during a snowstorm.
We came primarily for skiing, and Stratton Mountain was about 10-12 minute drive, and the access road was plowed well so we didn't have any trouble getting to the mountain after the storm.
We did our grocery and wine shopping at Winhall Market, which was less than half a mile from the house. It was a bit pricier than a big supermarket back home, of course, but had everything we needed, food was fresh and it was very convenient to get everything there, so we could cook a simple dinner and relax by the fireplace after a day of skiing.
Stratton Mtn, Magic Mtn and Bromley and a VAST trailhead are all less than a 20 minute drive. For non-skiers, Manchester Center is 20 minutes away with all of your favorite outlet stores. Hiking, biking, walking, swimming and kayaking during non-ski season makes this a great year round venue. My husband proposed at Mistrals Restaurant in Winhall on Rte 11/30! Fabulous venue and great food. Less than an hours drive you find historic Bennington, and Woodstock. Make sure not to miss Long Trail Brewery.
