Here at Eaglewood Lodge we strive to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Our aim is to make our guests feel like they are at home and to relax and unwind. We are located in the Partry mountains halfway between Westport and Leenane. We cater for up to twelve guests. The open plan design with cathedral ceilings and river rock fireplace is truly amazing. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and two upstairs. Also on the ground floor is a guest bathroom. The dining room with its large wooden table can seat twelve. There is seating for four more at the kitchen table. Upstairs there is the balcony with TV, library, and DVD for watching your favorite movie, soap or football game. On each wing of the balcony are two bedrooms one with king size and single bed and the other with two doubles and a single bed. An upstairs bathroom serves the two bedrooms.
Westport: We are located in one of the most unspoilt and untouched places in Ireland. The scenery changes every time the light changes which is pretty often around here . The beautiful town of Westport is a twelve minute drive with plenty to see and more to do. There is a wide variety of restaurants and bars . Croagh Patrick Ireland's holy mountain is a fifteen minute drive and holds it's annual pilgrimage in July, but it is now climbed by people everyday as the sights over Clew bay are wonderful , on a good day one can see all the 365 islands in the bay. It is also a great form of exercise and takes about three hours up and down, make sure to take suitable clothes and shoes as the temperature may be ten degrees colder on top and don't forget water.
Connemara: One of the few remaining Irish speaking areas in Ireland ,it is truly unique with the Twelve Bens mountain range to the Maumturks and beyond. Everything is at your doorstep here at Eaglewood lodge
We are in the heart of good fishing with river, lake and sea all near by. There is adventure all around with the largest race in Europe taking place in August with over 3000 participants taking part.
The mountains here are majestic and mysterious. In fact in 2014 we are offering gold panning days, in the river and streams nearby as the area is rich in gold deposits so who knows you could be taking home a big nugget. Please inquire about this if interested
In 2014 we are also starting a touring service for those who want to discover where the back roads and byways of Ireland lead to and together with our sister company Offthebeatentrack.ie we are the base for mountain hiking and cycling. A walking guide is available to take you out along the tracks or higher in the mountains if so required. Please let us know in advance if interested.
There is a gas bbq on the balcony for oudoor dining with ample seating and tables.
I was born just 100metres from the house and played in the field as a child.
Michael Gavin purchased this cabin in 2007
The uniqueness of staying in a log cabin in Ireland is rare and here at Eaglewood Lodge we offer top quality accomodation where you can relax and enjoy your long deserved holiday with your family and friends.
I designed and built this log cabin after spending many years working in different countries and keeping notes and photo's of different ideas that appealed to me, so hopefully when you stay here you will feel at home in a warm comfortable environment
