Beautiful! After a long flight from California, Martina Wasi provided three generations of family a perfect place to acclimate to the altitude and to settle in soak in the beauty of the sacred valley. Shannon and the staff made every effort to make sure the group was comfortable and without a doubt, everyone loved the gardens and the house. We had a great time.
Fabulous! We visited with three generations of our family and had a wonderful time. The place and grounds are immaculate and well cared for. The couple that care for the place and assisted us are exceptional. We could not have asked for a more relaxing place with a breathtaking view in the Sacred Valley as our home base to Cusco and Machu Pichu. The owner was available via phone for any concerns or needs. A walk to the charming town of Pisac.
It's hard to decide which was loveliest the house itself, the gorgeous view of the mountains, the peaceful backyard patio, or the family that takes care of the place.
It may be hard to believe after Machu Picchu, but staying at Martina Wasi was really the highlight of our trip. So nice to have a luxurious home base from which to explore Pisac and surroundings.
What an amazing home - what an amazing experience. Absolutely beautiful, and the house staff is beyond accommodating. We used this home as a central point for Machu Picchu, Pisac, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, etc etc. From the moment we reached out to the home owners to the time of our arrival, everything was handled professionally, efficiently, and we always heard back, regardless of our questions or need, in an extremely timely fashion.
This is a dream home, in a beautiful location, and the family that provides the cooking (if requested), transportation (if requested) and other services and support, has been so fantastic. Sweet, accommodating, supportive, but always in the background.
We did rent a car, and never had an issue, but did use the house driver a few times, and he was fantastic. The food provided when we asked to have meals prepared was authentic, and delicious. We will be back, and can't thank the home owners, and the staff enough for making our stay a wonderful one.
Thanks again! a truly memorable experience we will never forget.
We stayed for 3 nights and it was fantastic in all respects. This is as nice as any place we have stayed and we have been to a number of mountain homes in the US. The location is very good and I liked it better than Cusco because it was a small community and a beautiful location. The market in Pisac and the Pisac ruins are very close and were both great. The best part was that the managing couple were wonderful and very helpful. They made two dinners for us and we had 10 people so it was a big meal and the food was great and homemade. I would like to visit again in the future. Thanks to Choque and Jesusa for everything they did for us!
My family of 4 stayed at Martina Wasi for 4 nights in early July and had an amazing time. The house is beautiful - full of wonderful art and superb design features that make it both homey and luxurious at the same time. The couple who are caretakers truly take care of you while you are there - with a fire lit every night, a wonderful breakfast served in the morning, and any other assistance you might request including cooking delicious meals using local ingredients. At night we sat in the yard and looked up at more stars than we had ever seen before and then went back inside to tuck ourselves in under the lofty down comforters that kept chill away.
The location of the house is perfect - within walking distance of the town of Pisac which has a huge handicraft market, many restaurants, and its own set of Incan ruins that rivals those found at Machu Picchu. You can get to and from Machu Picchu as a day trip from the house, as well as to other archeologically significant towns and sites. Cuzco is about 50 minutes away.
We only wish we lived in Peru and not Massachusetts so that we could visit Martina Wasi on a regular basis!
