Claire purchased this cabin in 2004
Best possible location, one block walk to town, and directly on the Moose River with serene river views and private dock for Kayaking or canoeing, easy river access!
Have the feeling of being in a remote area with all of nature around you but you are still within walking distance of all the conviences of town.
My boyfriend and I rented this cabin over the summer and we couldn't have been more pleased. The cabin was very clean and cozy (decorated with some of the owner's own fantastic artwork) and just perfect for a couple. We loved having Moose River right behind the cabin and being able to fish off the dock. We were within walking distance from gift shops, supermarket, and restaurants. We rented a canoe at Tickner's, which is just a short walk away. Our only regret was not staying longer! We will definitely return.
My husband and I stayed in this lovely cabin for 2 days. We wished we could have stayed longer. The interior of the cabin is so cozy. It is so close to town that you can walk everywhere but you can't hear all the traffic or people. Its very peaceful. We will definitely try to reserve this cabin again next fall.
We stayed at this cabin for the weekend and it was perfect!!! Upon our arrival we were welcomed by a curious little doe that was not afraid of us. How wonderful! During our trip we left our kayaks tied up to the dock and would go out for a relaxing trip down the river whenever we felt the desire. Although in town this cabin is set back from town and we did not hear any noise indicating we were around others! We had campfires outdoors at night until we went inside to enjoy the warmth of the gas fireplace inside. It really was the best escape for someone not looking for any grandeur or pizzazz, simple rustic yet comfortable cottage. The owners provide much more than I expected as well (cookware, plates, silverware, garbage bags, and more) we didn't even need everything we brought. Overall it was a great get away and I only wish I could have stayed longer! We will be back!
The cabin in which I rented has met my criteria. I was looking for a simple cabin to get away from the fast-paced lifestyle. If you are looking to really get away from the hustle & bustle of everything, this is the place to be. The cabin offers the solitude. The description was accurate. The cabin is a stone's throw to the river. It is an idea place to bring your own kayak or canoe. There is a kayak/canoe rental place which is about 3-4 minutes walk from the cabin. What so unique about the place is that it is close to everything that you don't need a car. Every morning, I walk two blocks for a cup of coffee. It has close proximity to pharmacy, grocery store and all the stores on the main street. The cabin was very comfortable. It has a functional kitchen, nice bathroom with wooden-stall shower, living room with ceiling fan, screen-in porch and a small bedroom. This is a perfect place for single person who is seeking solitude as well as couple for romantic getaway. I plan to return next year since I fell in love with the place. The place has all the amenities and I didn't have to worry about setting up tent. Lastly, a perfect place to meditate on the dock every evening.
