The RIVER HOUSE (built in 2001)sits on the quiet banks of the Withlacoochee River, well protected from the hustle and bustle that most of us try to escape from. The property is four acres of oak hammocks and native vegetation that is cleared enough for a peaceful walk and bird watching but also maintained in a way to give the house plenty of privacy.

The river is great for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing (bass, pan fish). However, most guests prefer to just sit on the porch, dock or swing and watch the river flow on by.

The house has plenty of windows, ceiling fans throughout, central heat/air, washer, dryer, linens, appliances and kitchen utensils, outdoor grill and use of canoe or kayaks.
About Ron

The RIVER HOUSE has been my family's retreat for 15+ years (prior to our purchacing, the property was owned by our grandparents for 50+ years). It was the gathering point for our large family for many years for holiday cookouts, campouts and get aways. Much of our time is spent tubing, kyacking and fishing the river.

Ron purchased this house in 1996
Nearest Motorway : I-75 at 4 Miles
Nearest Golf : multiple within a radious of at 15 Miles
Car: necessary

*For the golfers; there are numerous courses within a 15 mile radius.

*For the more athletic; the Withlacoochee State Trail is 3 miles from the house and offers road biking, mountain biking and hiking.

*For the strollers (those that prefer antique shops and quaint little shops); Dade City is only 8 miles and Brooksville is 15miles.

*For the Theme Park lovers; Orlando is 1 ½ hour, Tampa is 1 hr. and Weekee Wachee is 45 minutes away.

  • Nov 1- April 15 $650/week $1800/month (may require a minimum stay of 1 month)

  • Cleaning Fee $75 (non-refundable)
  • $300 deposit at time of reservation, returned within 7 days of departure
  • *late spring-early fall the river level is sometimes too high to allow rental
