The local beach, Torre Abbey sands is a short walk away, as is the medieval Torre Abbey and gardens, which has just been extensively restored and The Living Coasts attraction. Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones and Kents Cavern are accessible either by car or bus. The South West coast path starting from Daddyhole Plain is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot by seasoned walkers.
The heart of the town is the harbour which is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants; a great place to watch the world go by. From here, take a pleasant stroll along the marina with the area’s trademark palm trees, or hop on a boat for a cruise across the bay or round to Dartmouth. The Living Coasts, The Princess Theatre and Pavilion shops are also located here. Torquay is rich in Victorian architecture and identity as the country’s first ‘resort’.
