Sport and free time activities:
In San Pietro in Bevagna you can play tennis, and in the neighbouring Manduria, there are riding possibilities on a beautiful, private riding yard. In the small marina Campomarino, you can rent sail and motor boats, and you can surf in the Ionic Sea, go fishing or bathing. Further more, you can make bike tours through the beautiful olive trees landscapes and along the seashore.
Trip destinations:
There are cathedrals and the strongholds from the Hohenstaufen and Normann times, Castel del Monte, among others and magnificent baroque cities such as Lecce. The Trulli von Alberobello, Taranto with the archaeological museums, the cave di Castellana with its famous stalactites and stalagmites are also worth seeing. You can also visit Fasano, the biggest safari and amusement park in Europe. In the close neighbourhood, there is the most beautiful port called Porto Cesario with the sea biological institute and Grottaglie, the most famous ceramic town in Italy, with wonderful masterpieces.
Food and drinks:
There is an exceptional, local cuisine. You can find numerous small restaurants and pizza restaurants, with tasteful, light cuisine, with very good wines, such as the Primitivo di Manduria and many delicious fish dishes. Apulia is the land of the olive tees and it offers, as a matter of fact one of the best olive oils in Italy.
