Our beautiful cottage is just minutes from Los Olivos on our private 5 acre ranch. Drive through the gates, past the corrals, up the tree lined drive and enter our newly-renovated cottage.
Hardwood floors line the living space with a wood burning fireplace that opens onto a dining area with its own bay window. There's a complete kitchen with granite counters, marble floors, and a laundry/pantry room with your own washer & dryer. Tucked under the stairs is a brand new, fully equipped bathroom with a big, tiled shower and large fluffy towels. Off the dining area, there's a cozy bedroom with a double bed and views of the garden.
Wander up the staircase which opens directly into the master-suite. Light the fireplace and sink into the queen size wrought iron bed with down comforter for a fabulous night's sleep. Just steps away is the bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi tub framed by Carrara marble.
In the morning you can enjoy coffee on the front porch, in the afternoon, relax with a glass of wine, take a nap on the big porch swing, or hang out on the expansive private lawn.
Adjoining the porch is a deck with a wrought-iron table and BBQ. Off in the yard there is a picnic table under bistro lights if you prefer to dine al fresco. For entertainment, the cottage has a flat screen TV, Roku box, HBO, Netflix, sound system, DVD player and complimentary WiFi.

We are former Los Angeles/New York transplants who abandoned city life for the tranquil surroundings of Los Olivos.
The tasting rooms, galleries, and restaurants of our quaint town are only a 10 minute walk or 5 min. bike ride. There's biking, horseback riding, golf, tennis, theatre, movies, shopping, festivals, farmer's markets and more. Santa Barbara, “the American Riviera,' is a short 30 minute drive south. Beautiful beaches are even closer, and never crowded. And our Los Olivos cottage is located right in the middle of it all!
We are retired and travel a lot. Our stays are usually in condos or cottages since they provide more room, comfort and flexibility. The Los Olivos cottage ranks at the top of our list because it is very comfortable, well appointed and the setting is beautiful. All of the furnishing are tasteful and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with the essentials. If you enjoy good restaurants, long walks, bicycling and, of course, great wine, this area is terrific. The owners, John and Karen are great folks and were extremely accommodating during our stay. We can't wait to go back!
We had the most wonderful stay at the Cottage and the most perfect 3 days staying in this absolutely gorgeous home. What a great find! Our stay couldn’t have been better. The cottage was as beautiful as all the photos and even more lovely and unique in person. Loved waking up to the sound of the birds and horses in the nearby fields along with the delicious fresh eggs Karen left for us on arrival – they made the most delicious omelets! The cottage is surrounded by a lovely garden (very private)and a beautiful old oak tree – perfect to picnic under which we did. The walk to Los Olivos was just as pretty and only 10-15 minutes away – perfect to explore the sights of town and even more fun to walk back from at night with our flashlights. We used the bikes too which were a perfect addition to bike into town for morning coffee. The kitchen has everything included, the bathrooms unique (with lovely towels) and the top floor bedroom couldn’t have been more cozy. For a true flavor of life in the valley – this was the most perfect location. We can’t wait to return and spend more time in this magical little spot. Thanks so much Karen and John for taking such good care of us and reminding us of the beautiful hills of Scotland .......
My husband and I had the most fantastic stay at this amazing cottage outside Los Olivios. It couldn't have been better. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home in this "one of a kind" home - amazing fireplaces, endless views, gorgeous garden to sit in, comfy beds and everything you could want for in a rental for a wonderful stay. We used the bikes provided to cycle to town for morning coffee and walked back and forth to town each evening, soaking up the sounds and sights of the valley. Remembered our flash lights too and had fun walking home each night under the stars! Karen and John were super hosts and very welcoming and friendy. Loved the fresh eggs provided and had the most amazing omelettes on our first morning sitting outside on a blanket under the oak tree. We loved our stay and can't wait to return. Many, many thanks for sharing such a lovely, unique spot!
This is the place to stay when visiting Los Olivos! Close to town and great restaurants!
Super clean and tastefully decorated! Loved everything about this place.
Our three-night stay at the French Country Cottage was fantastic! The super clean cottage with its tasteful décor had everything that we needed. The porch swing and picnic table were added benefits. Thanks to the owners for providing the restaurant list and some personal recommendations, plus the directions and advice regarding taking flashlights for after-dark walking. We will definitely plan on the cottage for our return trips!
Our friends came to visit from England and wanted to see wine country. Its not Napa but its a lot closer to our home in Los Angeles .The house was perfect for us. We walked into town to have our coffee and drove to wonderful wineries. We cooked in the perfectly stocked kitchen and slept in clean and comfortable beds. There were far too few nights sitting on that lovely porch looking at the stars. I cant wait to go back>
We had a wonderful weekend at this rental. Perfect size for two couples. The cottage has everything you need. The beds are very comfortable. Short 15 minute walk into town. Hope to be back again.
