Originally built by a shipwright in 1886 and completely renovated and restored in 2011. This home has all the charm of historic Key West along with all the modern comforts needed for a great vacation. The home exhibits all of the historic Key West charm you expect, including gorgeously restored Dade County Pine walls, but it doesn't skip a beat when it comes to modern conveniences. Dual zone central air conditioning keeps the house nice and cool, your iPhone stays charged with charging docks and usb outlets throughout the house, and WiFi keeps you connected to the mainland. Situated on a lushly landscaped private double lot, the house has a beautiful brand new heated pool, a newly installed designer kitchen, two full bathrooms, one half bath, and a full size washer and dryer. We also feature a rarity in Old Town Key West: off-street parking.
All three bedrooms feature a queen bed, and brand new luxurious linens, and new mattresses. One bedroom is located downstairs and features a full private bath. Two additional bedrooms are located upstairs. These two bedrooms share a brand new full bath located in the upstairs hall. All of the bedrooms feature an alarm clock radio complete with iPhone dock and charging station (bring an adapter for iPhone 5 users), luggage rack, and ample dresser or closet space to make yourself at home. Each bathroom is equipped with a hair dryer for your convenience.
Our favorite feature of this home is all of the beautiful outdoor living space. The covered outdoor living room features tons of comfortable seating, nighttime lighting, and a ceiling fan for your comfort. The large pool deck features two chaise lounges for sunning, plus an outdoor dining table that seats six. The pool is truly a tropical oasis. It is 18' X 8' with a built in lounging bench along one side. It's perfect for soaking or floating or even doing a few laps if you're in the mood for a little exercise. Of course, don't forget about the great front porch, where you can sit and watch the world go by on Fleming Street. Last, but not least, the most 'Key West' feature of this home is the private outdoor shower. For a true Key West experience, try showering outside (you won't want to shower inside once you try it!) Our outdoor living space is the perfect way to enjoy the Key West climate. We tend to spend most of our time here and we're sure you'll enjoy it as much as we do.
Finally, the one feature you simply can't beat is our location. Located at the corner of Fleming and William streets, you are literally a five to ten minute walk to everything Key West has to offer. The house is in the heart of Old Town, an outstanding walking neighborhood. Just three blocks from bustling Duval St and just two short blocks from the Seaport. A multitude of dining (and drinking) options are just minutes from your front door. Harpoon Harry's, Cafe Sole, Mangia Mangia, Michael's, Half Shell Raw Bar, BO's Fish Wagon, Schooner Wharf, Sloppy Joe's, and Pepe's are reached within a five minute stroll on foot. You can also walk to grocery stores, liquor stores, bakeries, coffee shops, pharmacies, great shops and more - are all within a five minute walk of our front door. Want to see one of our fabulous Key West sunsets? Walk to Malory Square in just ten minutes or take a stroll down to the La Concha Hotel at the corner of Fleming and Duval and watch the sunset from the rooftop bar. Once you park your car in your reserved off-street parking space, you honestly won't need it again until you depart. You will truly find no better location in Key West.
Please Note: This home is only available as a monthly rental. The city of Key West does not permit us to rent this property for less than 30 days at a time. Monthly inquiries only, please. (The dates blocked off on our calendar also reflect time that the owners, their friends, and family will be staying at the home. This is why you will see periods of less than 30 days blocked off from time to time. For rental purposes, the home is only available for a 30 day minimum stay)
Located at the corner of Fleming & William Streets.
The owners are from the Chicago area, and are longtime members of the hospitality industry. With over 30 years spent in the restaurant and hotel industry, the owners of this lovely property know how to create a comfortable tropical oasis for their guests. When not in Key West, they rent out their old town home so other travelers from around the world can enjoy the magic that made them fall in love with Key West.
The owners have been regular visitors to Key West for many years and finally found a home that exhibits everything they wanted in a Key West home. The home is steeped in history with tons of historic Key West character, but also has all of the modern amenities and conveniences to make a stay here comfortable and convenient. On top of all of this, the convenient old town location, complete with private pool, tons of outdoor living space, and parking is simply second to none. The owners have taken great pride in creating a tropical old town oasis that guests will return to year after year.
A huge benefit to this property is off-street parking. A convenience rarely found in this historic old town location. Once you park your car, however, everything you may want to do is just a few minutes away by foot. Three short blocks to Duval. Two blocks to the seaport. Bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, liquor stores, and a gourmet grocery store are all located within two blocks of our front door. You will truly find no better location in Key West.
Our home is located in the heart of old town Key West, literally steps from everything Key West has to offer. A five minute walk gets you both to the Seaport and to the heart of bustling Duval Street. Fantastic restaurants are located within two or three blocks. Cafe Sole, Mangia Mangia, Half Shell Raw Bar, Pepe's, BO's Fish Wagon, Sloppy Joe's and Schooner Wharf are all less than a five minute walk. Need some groceries or a bottle of wine? Just a two blocks away, Fausto's is a fantastic family-owned grocery. Sunsets at Mallory square are a ten minute stroll away, or view them from the top of the La Concha Hotel, just three block away at the corner of Duval and Fleming. The house is absolutely gorgeous and charming, but the location is absolutely unbeatable. You'll love being so close to everything that once you park your car, you won't need it again until you depart.
