Old Matt's Cabin on Lake Tenkiller

Looking to get away from it all? This beautiful lakefront cabin adjoins corps property, providing spectacular views from every room in every season. Relax and enjoy Lake Tenkiller, one of the deepest, clearest lakes in Oklahoma.

This cabin has 3 bedrooms, with a king-size bed in the master. There is a queen-size bed in a second room, and two twin beds in the third bedroom. The king and queen rooms each have their own adjoining full bathrooms. The twin room has an adjoining half bath. This home is perfectly suited for one or two families looking for a lake getaway, as well as the couple looking for a quiet weekend away.

There is a full kitchen with a stainless steel oven and stovetop, full-size refrigerator, and microwave. We have a variety of kitchen utensils, as well as a coffee pot. There is also a washer and dryer. In the family room you will find a television with DIRECTV and a blu ray disc player.

The deck provides stunning views of the water, as well as gorgeous views of fall foliage on the hills surrounding Lake Tenkiller. There is a gas grill provided on the deck.

Directly across the cove from the cabin is Snake Creek Marina. Here, you can rent a boat and/or a slip, as well as get gas. You can also enjoy lunch or dinner at the marina's restaurant on the water. Live bands play on a floating stage every Saturday night.

The boat ramp and rocky beach are less than a 100 yard walk from the cabin. There, you can launch your boat, skip rocks, fish, or swim. We have seen LOTS of wildlife at our cabin! A doe and her two fawns are known to frequent the hillside behind the home, as are a raccoon and chipmunks. The deer also like to swim from our banks over to nearby islands. We are always sad when it is time to leave our relaxing home-away-from-home. We hope that you find the rest and relaxation you need during your time here, as well!

About Matt Bowler

We are a family of four who loves spending time together outdoors. We grew up going to Tablerock Lake in Missouri, where Matt's grandmother lives on the lake. When we moved to Oklahoma, we searched to find a lake where we could share similar memories with our children.

Why Matt Bowler chose Tenkiller Lake

We have spent time on many Oklahoma lakes since moving here in 2006, but only Lake Tenkiller could match the rolling hills and deep, clear waters of Tablerock. It is very difficult to find homes on Tenkiller that are waterfront due to the stringent Corps of Engineers guidelines. When we found this home, we knew we had found a rare gem. The dock road dead-ends, so there is little traffic and lots of wildlife... perfect for explorers young and old.

The cabin was perfect. It was clean, organized, and with a spectacular view. This is the place to stay. The owner was great to deal with. We highly recommend it and will return for sure. The cabin sleeps six comfortably and is with a yards of the water.

This lake house is set up for the perfect short getaway or long vacation with all the amenities! The bedrooms are just right with super comfy linens. Each bedroom is seperated from the others with their own full or half bath. The home is very well layed out for fun family games and delicious meals. Full size refrigerator and full size appliances.

The deck is beautiful and relaxing for a romantic glass of wine or morning cup of coffee. It's just a brief walk to the lakeshore for fishing, boatramp and other activities. We even saw deer, squirrels and chipmunks. The pictures and description are accurate. Everything was clean and organized. The hosts were very helpful and answered all of our questions! Thank you for a comfortable, relaxing vacation! We didn't want to leave and hope to return again!

We loved the cabin. It was in a lovely setting. We saw several chipmunks and one day three deer crossed the back yard. Having a bathroom in each bedroom was wonderful. Also, having a washer and dryer in the cabin helped a lot because of our kids. We definitely recommend this cabin as a really nice place to stay.

The house was just like the pictures & descriptions in your listing. It was very clean & well maintained. The owner was extremely helpfull and answerd all of are questions We visited a few state parks located nearby as we spent most of oue time fishing. I would recomend this house to my friends!

Perfect Getaway Cabin

I had the pleasure of staying at Matt's Ole cabin over Labor Day weekend 2012 with 5 other adults and couldn't have been happier with the accomodations and the experience. All of the bedrooms were spacious, quaint, and comfortable. The 2.5 baths were perfect and there were plenty of fresh, clean towels. The house was completely stocked with linens, kitchen ware, bedding, etc. My friends and I are looking for an excuse to book again because we enjoyed ourselves so much. Our favorite feature about the house was the deck because of its spectacular view of the lake and comfy lawn furniture. The neighborhood is tucked away and offers a serene getaway from the city lights. For other travelers considering booking with Matt and Carrie, I would highly recommend it.
