Description

This 850 square foot apartment was recently built (2009) and newly refurbished (2012) specifically to accommodate families and the loft is located on the only private road that leads to Oseetah Lake.

• It is ideal as a family retreat (maximum capacity 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children)

•The loft and property are totally smoke-free environments

• It is nestled among the treetops with abundant natural light and panoramic views of surrounding forest and mountains.

• The private entrance leads to a large guest vestibule, with storage space for gear and to the stairway up to the main floor (the apartment is not handicapped accessible).

• Living space is designed in a clean, fresh and uncluttered manner with artisanal wood-work finishes emphasized by high cathedral ceilings and large bay windows.

• Kitchen includes designer concrete counters and island as well as All Clad cookware.

• Wood burning stove provides additional warmth for cozy evenings.

• Sunny south facing deck has a gas fired Weber grill overlooking the forest and lake.

• It is ideal as a family retreat (maximum capacity 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children)

•The loft and property are smoke-free environments

•Two cozy bedrooms w/one King bed, one Queen bed and a full size futon (in the living room)

• Bedrooms have large corner windows.

• Full bathroom includes shower, bath and large mirror.

• Hardwood floors throughout living space

• Familiies may view DVD’s on the LCD TV but no network service is available.

• Onkyo iPod docking station and stereo receiver

• A wireless network allows connection to the world at large.

• A landline phone is available for calls in the U.S.

• The south-facing lakeside deck, floating dock and small sandy beach are shared with the resident owners.

The resident owners are avid hikers, canoeists, X-country skiers and nature photographers and enthusiasts who love to share their years of knowledge about hiking trails and waterways.

•Quiet retreat, with peaceful lake, south facing beach and world class views of the Western High Peaks.

•Located at the western edge of the ADK High Peaks and directly connected to some of the best canoeing in the Northeast.

•A short drive to the towns of Saranac Lake and Lake Placid yet off the beaten path and away from noisy crowds.

•Easy drive to major trailheads for great hiking in the High Peaks.

•Canoe directly from our beach to pristine Pine Pond and to 25 miles of rivers and lakes in the Saranac Chain of Lakes.

•Eagles, loons, osprey, great blue heron, fox and deer are commonly seen.

•The 1.1 mile private access road leads past flowery meadows and wild spruce/tamarack forests, across an open marsh with views of the High Peaks (reminiscent of the Big Sky country of Montana) and finally to the mature forest of 100 year old white pines and mixed deciduous woods where our apartment is nestled.

•Great bass and pike fishing

•The 1.7 acre property has a south facing sandy beach (ideal for young children) and woodland paths leading to “Sunset Island”, perfect for a deeper swim and/or watching sunsets.

Wonderful retreat in the Adirondacks

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon - it was the perfect setting! It is tucked away on a quiet lake, and is a quick drive to either Saranac Lake or Lake Placid. It made a great home base for hiking in the high peaks region. The loft is beautifully decorated, well maintained, and comfortable. We appreciated all the little details, such as the cupboard full of spices for cooking.

We weren't able to meet Lem and Anita as they were away during our stay, but they were very helpful with any questions we had prior to our arrival, and left us contact information for their caretakers should we run into any trouble during our stay. I hope we'll have a chance to return.

Beautiful and Peaceful Place, I will stay again and again. I stay with my husband and our three daughters and everything was perfect. The cabin is more beautiful than the pictures, you can feel the peace in there. The owners are very nice and polite. Definitely will stay again!

MLK Weekend Getaway

Just as the title states, this truly is a cozy winter retreat - nestled perfectly on Oseetah Lake. The loft was immaculate and had all the "necessities" one would expect/want for their escape to the wilderness. Regarding location, it is removed from the main road and sits right by the lake, hidden amongst the trees. Having said that, it is a stones throw away from shops, lake placid town, and whiteface mountain. Ideal for both a winter and summer adventure.

The owners were more than accommodating and very open and kind.

Best Spot in the ADKs!

What an amazing place! The loft was cozy and perfect for our family. We loved taking walks right out the door down the long, quiet dirt road with outstanding views of the mountains and marsh. We even saw an eagle! The lake is shallow by the dock, which was perfect for our 18 month old. My husband and I enjoyed swimming in the deeper water off the rock adjacent to the property.

The owners were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and recommended a paddling trip from the dock to a quiet, tucked away smaller lake called Pine pond. It had a beach, sandy bottom and blue-green water. We loved it so much we went twice and pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves (except for a pair of loons).

This was the ideal location for our family, there was lots to do right out the door, but we were only minutes from both the towns of Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. We are definitely going to come back next summer!

We are in love with this Oseetah Lake Loft & it's owners! The loft was so cozy, clean, modern, new & stylish to name a few. We did not want to leave as the loft is a vacation on it's own. Now, the location could not been better as it's right on the Lake. Talk about amazing views just a few steps away as well as a new dock built by the owners for swimming, canoeing, etc.. Just picturing it right now as I write this is making me want to go back... This please will relieve all your stresses in life while you are there.. We will definitely be back but for a longer next time. We want to thank the owners for their amazing hospitality!
