Our single story villa in Harbour View is moments from Jolly Harbour and the beach. 2 King-size beds both with en suites, 2 twins, and a family bathroom. All rooms have ceiling fans. Central A/C, with cable TV, & Wi-Fi. Fully kitted kitchen with dish-washer, washing machine/drier and American sized fridge freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster & ample cooking utensils and pans.

Fully furnished with towels/linens provided, and a weekly maid service, which can be as frequent as daily if required. The property benefits from having its own private pool and sundeck, with outside dining furniture, sun loungers, and gas barbecue.

The nearest supermarket selling an extensive range of western food is a 5 minute walk, as are the facilities of Jolly Harbour. The nearest beach is a 10 minute walk.

You will be met on arrival at the airport at St. Johns, with transfers arranged to/from the villa, an approximate 25 minute minute journey by road, with a welcome pack waiting for you on arrival

About Phil Holland

We currently live in the UK, having spent a career mostly working and living overseas. We bought this property in 2008 to provide a vacation home for ourselves and our two daughters, and to provide an extended vacation home during my retirement.

Why Phil Holland chose St. Mary

The property comprises 1600 square feet internally, a 300 square foot sun verandha overlooking the 10 times 5 metre pool, which is contained within a timber deck area.

With 1600 square feet of internal living area, the property is ideal for extended vacations. It is configured to enable two families of four to share identical bedrooms, ie, with two master bedrooms, both with kingsize beds, ensuites, and wardrobes, dressers. Similarly there are two identical twin rooms, which share a shower room. It is therefore ideal for two families of four to share a vacation.

The property is fully equipped to facilitate self catering, with Denby crockery, Diners cutlery, and Circulon pans. It has all the necessary facilities, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, plus other kitchen items such as blender, coffee maker, and more than adequate kitchen utensils to make self catering a pleasure, rather than a chore!

Of course, if self catering is not your thing, then you are a five minute walk from the 6 nearest restaurants.

The lounge is furnished to be comfortable, with a leather sofa set.

What makes this villa unique

The property is located on a short hardcore road, off the main road entrance to Jolly Harbour and overlooks a freshwater lake, with breeding birds, and feeding pelicans. It is quiet, and removed from the hustle and bustle of Jolly Harbour, but is only a 5 minute walk away from the Jolly Harbour supermarket, restaurants etc.

A lovely villa, clean, airy and nicely decorated. Faces east/west so gets the sun all day. Very well equipped, with thoughtful touches like coolboxes, chairs and li-los for use on the beach.

There is also free wi-fi so you can keep in touch with your non-holiday life if you need to.

It comfortably fits 8, although I had the luxury of being there with just one other person and there are plenty of dishware, towels etc to cope with a large party.

There is also an ipod dock.

There is a lovely seating/dining area outside and pretty solar lighting for the evening.

I would recommend a car (4X4 as Antiguan roads are badly potholed) as it's the easiest way to explore the island, although the very best beaches are close by.

The only reason it didn't get a 5 is that the pool is neither long or deep enough for a proper swim but that is not a drawback for everybody

A taxi from and to the airport is included in the price.

Great place and location

Went for a visit cause my brother lives in jolly harbour. Had 5 ppl staying in milk & honey. Very spacious and clean. Close to beaches and shops. Phil is great to deal with and same with the property management. Will def stay here again if available next time we visit antigua!

Excellent stay in a very comfortable villa.

Hi Phil. We had a great stay at your villa in Jolly Harbour. We hired a car & checked out the island too.

The villa was very good for us as two couples. Lovely, spacious, open plan lounge/dining & the deck was excellent for sunbathing around the pool. The villa also provides plenty of space for more people. Every bedroom is spacious, well presented and comfortable.

Villa Management were friendly & helpful and responded to our requests for information. The transfers worked well too.

The location is slightly outside the Jolly Harbour main development but is within 5-10 mins walk and a short ride in a car or golf buggy which can be easily hired, locally. The local supermarket is excellent, open long hours and stocks all main requirements plus many more. BBQ-ing around the pool is a very pleasant way to spend your evening at Villa Milk & Honey. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by, either within a 10-15 minute walk or a car/taxi journey.

All in all, a great stay at Milk & Honey. We would rent the villa again.

Christmas at Milk and Honey

My family and I (6 adults, one teenager, four kids and a baby) stayed at Milk and Honey for two weeks over Christmas and had an amazing time. The villa was beautiful and had everything we needed for our home away from home.

The kids enjoyed the pool and spent the majority of their time in it.

The staff were brilliant, from Ita who emailed before hand to confirm the arrangement for our stay, to Tristan who met us at the airport. The cleaners, the guy who cleaned the pool and the handyman who fixed the BBQ when it ran out of gas were all very efficient and extremely responsive.

Despite not having a car we enjoyed the amenities of Jolly Harbour, which was just a short walk from the villa. We could even "pop to the shops" as the supermarket was just at the end of the road. The one thing I would say is that they need to put an extra streetlight at the end of the road, to accommodate late night walks from the bar.

All in all a lovely holiday was had by all. We would highly recommend Milk and Honey.

Our stay here has been wonderful. The house is perfect for our needs and we intend to return in the future. It is clean, well maintained, well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable month long stay. The kitchen and dining utensils are quality and include everything you would need for eight to ten people, even for a gourmet cook. We had local familily over for dinner a few times and found everything we needed to create a dinner party.

The furniture is solid and is very comfortable.

We rented a car to get around the island but if you just want to stay in the local area, everything you need is within walking distance, including a Waitrose grocery store called Epicurian, pharmacy, banks, restaurants, marina, and beaches. A much larger grocery store by t.he same name, the size of Costco, which now supplies everything that you cen get at home can be found closer to St John's.

There are backpack type beach chairs, pool toys, a large cooler, an abundance of towels and linens, ample clothes hangers, a good functioning washing machine and dishwasher and outdoor clothesline and pegs for drying laundry. There was nothing missing that we would want for a comfortable stay. The air conditioning is bliss and we were mindful of our usage due to of the ingredibly high cost of electricity here on the island. The power goes out from time to time but never for very long. There is a very serious drought here at the moment with water rationing so we tried to be mindful of our water usage.

Previously we have stayed in the Jolly Harbour complex where there is usually an abundance of Mosquitos and biting "no-see-ems". Here we had no bites whatsoever but we stay indoors around the hour of dusk and dawn when the little beasties are most abundant !

The house overlooks a salt pond (small brine lake) where there is an abundance of bird life such as white egrets and pelicans to watch. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There were occupants in the houses on both sides of Milk and Honey but we didn't find this objectionable at all. There was no rowdiness for the neighbours.

The cleaning staff are a delight and the management are super attentive and accommodating. The owner, Phil Holland, has been wonderful to work with and is available and attentive to any question or problem, big or small.

My husband was born here so we come regularly to visit family and have a break. We would certainly rent this villa again on future visits when we want to stay in the Jolly area.

Perfect for the Best Beaches

This review is late due to catching up with things back home , but hope that people find this useful.

First of all let me say that this villa is as described , and the photos do not lie. We were only a party of 2 adults and 1 toddler and we rattled around in this large place, it has 4 large bedrooms 3 bathrooms and a large lounge with kitchen dinner. The standard of furnishing is of a high standard, the kitchen is well equipped and has a large selection of utensils etc.

Outdoor area is great, we loved the deck area and our little man loved the pool (this pool is not deep but is really great if you have young kids) plenty of outdoor seats and recliners and a good bbq .

Villa is close to the Jolly Harbor complex with its shops and bank

and of course the Jolly Harbor beach. Valley Church , Darkwood & Turners beaches are all within a very short distance from the villa.

Phil the owner is a dream to rent from. He was very quick in responding to all queries and as for customer service he delayed his own occupation of the villa to allow us a late departure that is going beyond the extra mile.

Would I recommend staying here well that's a resounding yes , in fact we are so impressed we will be returning in February.

We wish that every villa owner was as accommodating as Phil
