Enjoy the incredible beauty of the Mobjack Bay as your backyard! Centrally located on Virginia's Middle Peninsula with easy access to historic Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown, Richmond and Virginia Beach. Mathews is a great getaway. Crabbing and fishing off the private dock, as well as kayaking, are just the beginning. The house is fully equipped including a king bed, a queen, and two twin, washer and dryer, fireplace, central A/C and two full baths. Feast on the wall of windows overlooking the bay. Savor the amazing sunsets as you relax on the deck or screened in porch.

Nearby are Newport Comfort Lighthouse, the East River, the Chesapeake Bay and several smaller creeks and beaches. Mathews offers unique restaurants, Saturday morning Farmer's Market and several antique shops. Bike paths are also nearby.

Beautiful, relaxing, bayside home

My wife and I stayed with another couple at the home with our toddlers and had a wonderful relaxing stay. The views are breathtaking with a unique West-facing bay home, you can sip a cocktail in the evening and watch the sunset from adirondack chairs in the yard. It's tucked down a back-road, which gives a wonderful feeling of seclusion. We paddled in the Mobjack, drove into Matthews to shop and eat (highly recommend Southwind Cafe) and had a crab feast with the crabs we caught off the dock! The home is lovely; it has a bright & airy open floor plan - clearly it's newly renovated, very tasteful decor, with beautiful views and every ammenity. It feels new and fresh unlike many of the tired rentals you find in the area. If you're looking to relax & unwind, kick back and enjoy the bay - this is the place. Peaceful and beautiful. Can't recommend it enough.

I've stayed here twice and have had a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. The quiet and serene atmosphere makes one want to stay forever. The sunsets are spectacular. I will be going again and again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Romantic Getaway

One point to clarify.
Though we love animals, we restrict pets during any scheduled rental period at the property. Our guest that posted this review, inadvertently checked the pet friendly box when entering the comments.
