Great property at a great price

This was a great place to stay for the price. We stayed for 5 nights in rainy March and were very pleased. The house is one of several houses on a large and beautiful family owned Tuscan property. There are two large bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms, a kitchen, and living room- almost too much space for a couple, but it would have been perfect for two couples or a family. Everything about the property was as advertised- wi fi in the living room and kitchen, clean, well maintained furnishings, and a fully stocked kitchen for cooking.
One of the main draws to this place was that there was available parking. We used the house as our Florence homebase and visited many other Tuscan towns with our rental car. However, even with a car don't underestimate the amount of walking you will do. We always found free parking in Porta Romano Square (5 minute drive), but it was a 20 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio and the heart of Florence. Since Florence is open to limited vehicle traffic, this is an important consideration when selecting this property. Taxis were available at Porta Romano square.
Also, the roads in this part of Florence are narrow and windy- not for the faint of heart! My GPS sent us down a particularly treacherous path. I'd recommend getting directions from Roberto ahead of time to avoid this hazard.
Roberto was a perfect host, he was very responsive to our inquiries before arriving and was even able to accomodate us a few days early when our travel plans changed. After arrival, he stayed out of our hair and encouraged us to roam around the beautiful property. He recommended two restaurants and two grocery stores. One of the restaurants, 4 Leonis Taverna, was excellent, and the Il Centro market was perfect for picking up a few items for breakfast. We also cooked dinner at home one night and found all the utensils we needed in the kitchen.
The house was a little on the cold side and had some water coming in the windows in the converted greenhouse, but for the price per night, I couldn't have been more pleased. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
