Hernando Beach - Bring your Boat & Jet ski or fishing poles!! Dock is right out the back door. TANDEM KAYAK PROVIDED.

This home is a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath with very open and comfortable floor plan{2130 sq. ft.} It is located on Minnow Creek with great ocean access, 5 minute idle boat ride to open ocean. Views to die for on all 3 levels. One of the few homes that borders Minnow Creek which empties in the Gulf. Very large schools of mullet and redfish, dolphin and manatee right off our dock.

Come see Florida's nature coast. Hernando Beach is a quiet, rural, residential community filled with wildlife. A perfect getaway for relaxing, fishing or family adventure. Watch the dolphins and manatees play outside from the deck. This area is also famous for its Tarpon fishing - with grouper, snapper, snook, flounder and many other species. Watch the dolphin at sunset at Pine Island, a 10 minute drive away, it has white sandy beaches, playground, restroom facilities, grills, picnic shelters and snack bar available.(great for the little ones) Rent a pontoon boat, kayak or canoe and travel the Weeki Wachee River, swim with the manatee in the crystal clear water. See the mermaids at Weeki Watchee Park. There is also a very nice water park there for the kids, Plenty to do locally, why get into the hustle and bustle at Disney World, plus save a lot of money!

About Sharon and Bill Evans

We purchased this property in 2010 as a second home and a vacation rental

Sharon and Bill Evans purchased this house in 2010

Why Sharon and Bill Evans chose Hernando Beach

We fell in love with this area after looking at many properties in Hudson, Port Richey and New Port Richey. We decided on Hernando Beach because of its beauty and it out of the hussle and bustle of Hwy 19.

What makes this house unique

Our property is one of the few that has a unique view of the Gulf of Mexico right out the back of the house.

No-Notice trip -got lucky with perfect gulf view home!

  • 5 of 5
I found out I needed to get to the area for a family emergency and sent three requests for information to owners/managers on VRBO. Sharon responded very quickly, and was wonderful to work with. The directions, arrival procedures, and all administrative matters were clear and simple.
The home was fabulous; it was set up perfectly, was in a beautiful location, and was exactly as advertised. This is a real gem, and I hope to visit again under much different circumstances.
I have used VRBO in Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, and Florida (mutliple times), and all have been good experiences, but this was by far the best to date.

Awesome getaway with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5
This house was even more than we hoped for! Owners were extremely helpful and accommodating to all of our needs. House was very clean, extremely spacious, and had spectacular views. Dock was in good shape and was very boater friendly. All appliances and AC were in very good working condition. Neighbors were very friendly. Loved the "boat bar" (trying to talk my husband into building us one now). We enjoyed fishing off the dock and caught our limit of scallops each day. We were so busy we never got a chance to try out the kayak but thought it was awesome that owners allowed you to do so. Checking out was a breeze...We will definitely visit again soon!

Great house, excellent fishing

  • 5 of 5
We rented this home between July 26th and August 9th, 2014. Everything is as described in the listing and in the other reviews. There were basic supplies in the kitchen upon arrival, and we topped everything up during our stay. The views from the balconies are great, and the views from the master are incredible. Lots of wildlife, seabirds, and manatees can be seen right off of the dock. We fished off of the dock almost every day (there are a couple of rods there, but we brought our own, and left some tackle behind). Great catches, good variety - snapper, jack cravalle, redfish, pinfish, catfish, toadfish, even a sting ray. There is a bait shop around the corner. We also rented a pontoon boat from Stirling Marina around the corner twice. Other things to do - canoe down the Weeki Wachee River, visit Pine Island Beach. We drove to Clearwater, went to Disney for one day, and visited other beaches. On most days, you can find dolphins in the area beaches and out in the Gulf, which our kids enjoyed. If you are looking for a safe clean place to stay, this house will suit your needs. We have been to Hernando Beach before, so were in cruise control most of the time, but for newcomers, you should know that the area is not a primary destination for tourists, and that there are a variety of people around. That being said, there are a lot of amenities to choose from, and you will have no shortage of options for dining, groceries, or anything else. We would have no problem staying here again in the future.

Heavenly connection to nature

  • 5 of 5
I loved everything about my stay at this property. The house is gorgeous and the views are even more gorgeous. Loved the views of the marshes from the decks of the house. I have a very stressful job and have never stayed anywhere so peaceful and serene. So relaxing. Loved the "boat" bar in the house. This is a great place to kayak. It feels like you are away from it all but yet you can easily get to Spring Hill, Weeki Wachee, and Homosassa. We went to the Monkey Bar in Homosassa and it was great fun watching the monkeys at play on their little island. We also had a fabulous gourmet meal at Nouvelle Cuisine in nearby Spring Hill. However, my favorite thing to do was sit on the deck at the house and watch fish jump from the water and all kinds of birds. I also loved the beautiful sunsets from the deck of the house. The owners were wonderful and very interested in making sure everything was perfect with our stay. The only negative thing I can say is that I had to leave - can't wait to return!

A Nature Lover's Paradise

A Nature Lover's Paradise

We had a great two week stay at Bob and Sharon's Hernando Beach home. The house is well laid out and well appointed. The first floor is a large rec area with a pool table, bikes, fishing gear and a tandem kayak. The second floor has two bedrooms with a jack and jill bathroom, a large living, dining area with a boat-shaped bar and a well equipped kitchen. The third floor has the master bedroom with a full bath and a walk-in closet. The whole house is decorated in nautical and piscatorial splendor. A balcony/deck goes completely around the second floor and there is a balcony on the third floor as well. There are spectacular views out to the Gulf and over the wetlands that run for miles up the coast. Manatees and dolphins go by the dock and birds, from eagles to egrets to bluebirds, are everywhere. It is a fantastic location if you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful spot away from the crowds. There are great restaurants and bars nearby and a beach on the Gulf at Pine Island, a 15 minute drive. The large Weeki Wachee Preserve is practically across the street and has miles of hiking and biking trails. This place is a natural gem. We absolutely loved it.

Gem for getting away from it all.

  • 5 of 5
Wonderful views of creek, marshes, and gulf from living and sleeping areas, as well as the full walk around deck. Comfortable, attractive, and well equipped. Lots of space in an open layout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, including use of the owner's kayak to explore the marshes and nearby canals. We also took advantage of local restaurants, kayaking the crystal clear Weeki Wachee river (down river kayak rental/shuttle available), visiting local parks and biking (we brought our own) around the community.
