  • The bathroom is designed with a contempary flare.I decided that I wanted to have a walk in shower,that also hase a hand held shower hose too.Ther is an Aquavision shower TV which is nice to watch the news in the morning. I also have contempary shower seat for those whow would just like to sit and have a shower. The bathroom floor has under floor heating,and the mirrors have heating panels so they do not steam up. There is also shaver socket/tooth brush charger socket. The lighiting can also be set to a color change system to give a cosy feel to the room. Ther is also lots of storage in the bathroom cupboards.

  • Bedroom 1 - 1 Double, 1 Sleep Sofa /Futon, Sofa bed is kingsize once opened.
  • The bedroom is contempary design,that has a double bed with memory foam mattress.( I beleive that you should always go for the best mattress on the market,and this is the best one that i have found to date. One full width of room has floor to ceiling white fitted wardrobes,so there is lots of hanging space,and there is also 3 recessed shelves to house your alarm clock etc. There is a bedside & floor lamp,also there is low level ceiling lighting. In January 2010 I will be having the bedroom re modeled so that the bed will be accesable to both ends, and to have reading lamps either side too.the project will last for 7 days,as there is plastering,painting etc. I have also decided at the same time to put a small flat screen TV wall mounted so that you can watch the TV in bed. I will also be having plain colour black out blinds to give a softer look,but I will still have the blackout roller blind (thats in at present) The bedroom floor is the same as the sitting room.

A PERFECT PLACE

We spent two weeks in this marvelous apartment and were very sorry to leave it! Everything about it is wonderful! The location is amazing, the bathroom is great, the bed is incredibly comfortable, the kitchen is very modern and equipped, the whole apartment is very, very beautiful, warm and cosy, finely decorated and Hugh was very nice and helpful! We could go by foot to most of the attractions in the city, and when we got tired of walking there was the huge TV with a sofabed waiting for us at the apartment. Next time we're in London there's nowhere else we want to stay!

Thanks for everything, Hugh! And we wait for you in Rio!

IMPOSSIBLE BETTER!

We have spent 3 days in this apartment in December 2009. It was fantastic. Hugh gave us a very warm welcome and was so nice to met him. THANKS SO MUCH HUGH&PAUL!!
It´s a beautiful character flat with a lot of personal touches that make you feel like your home (well, my home it´s not so nice decorated...).
It was spotless and has in addition everything to keep it clean, and dishwasher tablets, washing machine soap... all very useful. The kitchen is very clean and provided with all kind of utensils and tableware, and also the bedroom: soft sheets, blankets, and the matress is supercomfortable! Even though you can see Leicester Sq from it, it´s quiet and perfect to have sweet dreams. Ahh! The view: terrific!! you can see from the salon Nelson column, London Eye, London roofs and even the Big Ben!
The TV and sofa are huge for 2 persons, so I think stay in 3 it´s equally comfortable. Has Sky TV and DVD, good for entertainment.
Some budget supermarkets are 1 minute away, and the same the Piccadilly Sq, so it´s impossible to stay more centric.
I couldn´t imagine a best place to stay in London, but has a great default: so many people know all this as us, and it´s difficult to find available dates!
Thanks Hugh for for all your kindness in allowing your flat to be used by Homeaway clients, and for your sympathy.

fantastic flat

My wife and I have traveled to London several dozen times for both business and pleasure, staying in flats, dorms, hotel rooms, etc.; Hugh's flat is by far the best accommodation we have found for many reasons.

The location cannot be beat, between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. We love the theatre so it was particularly good for us to be two short blocks from the TKTS booth. Everything in the West End is within walking distance and you can walk from the West End across Waterloo Bridge (a stunning place to stop and admire the whole Thames panorama) to the National Theatre on the South Bank. If you are not a walker, the tube stop is literally 3 minutes from the flat.

Hugh is an interior designer by trade and his flat reflects that in the soothing gray tones with splashes of color and in the top-of-the-line/cutting edge appliances, bedding and fixtures. Everything is both beautiful and functional; it is a study in how to do a small one-bedroom to perfection. The bathroom has heated floors and towel rack with an in-shower television!

The livingroom is a wall of windows with surely one of the most fabulous views in London, including Nelson's statue at Trafalgar Square, Parliament, the Millenium Wheel and much, much more: impressive during the day, stunning at night. It is located on the 6th floor, with double-glazed windows for absolute quiet in the midst of everything.

And finally, Hugh himself is the perfect host, helpful and totally non-intrusive, truly concerned with the well-being and comfort of his guests.
We recommend this sanctuary without reservation.

Excellent Flat

My husband and I spent an entire month in this delightful, comfortable flat. It was completely furnished, and the owner was very helpful. The location was very close to transportation, theaters, museums and galleries. We particularly liked being able to walk three blocks to St. Martin's in the Field for evening musical performances. This flat will be our first choice on return visits to London.
