Overview

Nokomis House Rental Photos and Description

Spacious 2 bedroom 2 full baths with intracoastal view. Bright and sunny.

This is a true 1960's beach house with terrazzo floors & jalousie windows! You cant find a better location close to Casey Key Beach unless you are staying on Casey Key. Both bathrooms have been completely & professionally renovated as well as the rest of the house. The home is clean, well furnished and is very bright and sunny. The Master bedroom has a king size bed and private bathroom a large cedar closet and cable TV. The 2nd bedroom has a queen sized bed and a large cedar closet. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and there is also a gas grill in the shed. There are plenty of windows that face the intracoastal water way,a large sectional sofa and flat screen TV in the very spacious and open living room. Enjoy the smell of the salty air and the tropical breeze from the screened in lanai. Walk across the street to Pop's Sunset Grill or Pelican Alley for drink's and a comfortable & casual dining experience. There is live music at both places depending on the season & weather. There is a marina with dry storage right across the street and a public boat ramp just across the intracoastal water way for a 2 minute boat ride into the Gulf of Mexico. If you don't have your own boat we encourage you to contact Captain Charlie & his wife Debbie, owners of 'The Water Taxi' out of the marina at the north end of Casey Key.They will do fishing charters , day cruises & sunset cruises on their pontoon boat that will seat 8 to 10 people. It's a great time! We go every time we are down there. This is the best way to experience the wild life that exists in this tropical paradise. All types of Birds, Dolphin, Manatee and even Sea Turtles. You can enjoy lunch or dinner at the Casey Key Fish house, listen to live music and enjoy the beautiful scenery and wild life at their Tiki Bar. A bike ride on Casey Key is a must with its tropical vegetation and incredible views of the Gulf of Mexico. There is a convenience store within walking distance for great sandwiches beer & wine and other necessities. Publix is nearby as well as the post office several bait and tackle stores Kayak & boat rentals,Veterinarian and the Legacy biking trail. If you like more of a formal dining experience Venice is just south of us and has great Sea food and Italian restaurants to choose from. Check out Sharkies restaurant and take a stroll on their pier in the Gulf south of down town Venice. The best thing about this home is the great location and the 3 to 5 minute walk to a beach with no hotels or high rises. It is truly 'Old Florida' at it's best!

About Dawn Valetti

We have vacationed in Nokomis for several years prior to purchasing our own home in this tropical paradise. We have several friends that live in the area and we get together several times a year to enjoy the peacefulness of Nokomis.

Dawn Valetti purchased this house in 2008

Why Dawn Valetti chose Nokomis

We love that Nokomis and Casey key are not over built with condos and highrises on the beach. There are several 1950's motels on the key that are still operating today that remind us of what Florida used to be. Other beach communities are over built and are congested with traffic .

What makes this house unique

If you are like us, we prefer to drive as little as possible when we go to the beach. All you need to do is stock up on food and supplies on your way in and walk to the beach, ride your bikes, run on Casey Key or just relax with a glass of wine and watch the beautiful sunsets.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My husband and I stayed here last year great place and great location! Just a 3 minute walk to the beach and intercoastal. We really enjoyed ourselves hoping to go back soon!

Great House, Great location

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house in April so two of my grandchildren could be with me on their Easter break. The house was perfect - a large living room with a huge cushy sectional (great for napping), good sized bedrooms, two newly renovated bathrooms, well maintained, immaculate and a bonus screened porch that we used for meals.

The location was perfect - we could walk to the beach, the North Jetty, a homemade ice cream store. a small grocery store and two charming restaurants. The kids loved it. Everyone, regardless of age, should experience a sunset drum circle.

The weather was stunning - everyday was sunny. A real treat for this New Jersey family.

Easy Living

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for two wonderful months this winter. It was so easy to settle in to.

The grill and clothesline out back are very convenient and the garage is perfect for our bikes and drums.

You can walk to the beach day or night, the post office, grocery store, and restaurants. It is a very friendly neigborhood.

The house is fully outfitted for everything you need. It is bright, airyand comfortable. Everyone that came over remarked what a great place it is.

The property manager is readily available if needed.

I would recommend this property without hesitation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our month at this Nokomis House. It was very convenient to the beach and restaurants (within walking distance). We appreciated the beach chairs/beach towels/beach umbrellas. The kitchen was well stocked with all needed cooking equipment and utensils. A great grill and a wonderful laundry room. We had a wonderful time. Thank You.

Terrific location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented here for the month of February 2014. We would recommend it without qualification to any potential renters. The house is exactly as pictured on the website--the rooms are very large, efficient ceiling fans in every room and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots, pans and cooking utensils, including grilling tools. If you think of something that isn't there, you probably don't really need it. The house was very clean when we arrived. The property manager Dawn Valetti is a pleasure to work with--professional, friendly, accessible and efficient. Beautiful Nokomis Beach is a five minute walk, Venice is a five minute drive and you can be in Sarasota to enjoy its restaurants and theaters in 20 minutes via I-75N. Rent bikes from Beach Bikes & Trikes--they deliver and pick up. Rent kayaks from Island Jet Ski on Casey Key, a 4.5 mile drive away through the beautiful homes section on that Key.

Great Time

  • 5 of 5

We brought our family to this house last month and had one of the best vacations. The rental is clean and bright with large rooms. The ceiling fans throughout are a big plus. The location could not be better as we walked to excellent restaurants, the boat rental, the canal AND the beach! Shopping and entertainment are minutes in either direction. We will definitely be back.
