BEAUTIFUL VILLA WITH SWEEPING VIEWS, PRIVATE POOL, AND TROPICAL GARDEN

Cades Bay Villa Rental Photos and Description

Our vacation home, called “Broad Reach”, is perched on a hillside on the Island of Nevis, overlooking the Caribbean Sea and neighboring St. Kitts. There are decks on three sides, and windows all around, so Broad Reach has breathtaking views in almost every direction. From the pool and patio, you can also see up the coast of Nevis to Oualie Beach. A fairly constant breeze blows through the house, and light streams in everywhere. On the decks you will find a dining table and chairs for meals outdoors while taking in the sunset, and a hammock for reading or a nap. On the patio by the pool, you will find a comfortable sofa and lounges under a shady pergola, our you can pull them out into the sun.

Broad Reach has an expansive feel because of the amazing views, and doors all around which we leave open all day, so we feel like we are always outdoors. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and the second bedroom has a queen and two singles, dormitory style. There is also a fold out sofa in the living room, for additional guests. The kitchen has all you need: refrigerator/freezer, range/oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, coffee maker, and of course the blender for smoothies and margaritas! There is internet access, and an internet phone with free calls to the US and Canada. There is a TV (for DVDs and streaming only, no cable), DVD player, IPOD dock, barbecue, and laundry facilities.

Our Meet and Greet Service will arrange airport transportation, acquaint guests with the villa, and help arrange car rentals.

We are a couple in our 50's, with four children, all of us born and raised in Southern California. David is an inventor and machinist and Tamara (aside from raising 4 kids) makes pottery and gardens.

Tamara Keirsey purchased this villa in 2009

We have always loved to visit the Caribbean as a family, and once we discovered the tranquility and natural beauty of Nevis, we wanted to be able to come back often. The views at Broad Reach, especially at sunset, were so impressive that we couldn't say no.

The many doors and windows that open onto the wrap around decks, the infinity pool perched above the expansive ocean, the quaint wrought iron bench surrounded by tropical flowers, and the occasional monkey frolicking across the patio create our very own paradise.

EXCELLENT BABYMOON CELEBRATION WITH FRIENDS!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I + 2 friends stayed at this majestic villa for 5 nights and really don't know if we could have found a better place. The view and the pool make for excellent 'limin' and given that I travel for work pretty regularly, it was nice to feel like I wasn't staying in just another hotel, but rather a home that felt like our own perfect place. The breeze kept everything cool and comfortable while we enjoyed the sun. We loved all the recommendations - hitting up Mansas, Gallipot, Mango, Sunshines, Yachtsman Grill the list goes on and on. It was also nice to be able to make our own breakfast, lunch most days and even dinner one night. Loved the games and books - bananagrams was a big hit and the guys got into some trouble with the water toys! We also spent 5 night on St. Kitts and would definitely say that Nevis took the cake. Also should mention how helpful everyone with the rental was on getting us situated/setup - extra touches like getting some basic breakfast supplies and helping with the water taxi went a long way. Only areas for improvement would be instructions for the grill - we couldn't figure out how to work that. Also, for others to keep in mind, 'grocery stores' on the island are definitely more limited so be prepared to be a bit creative for cooking, or otherwise just stick with the basics - eggs, bacon etc.

I am reviewing this property while we are staying here---life gets busy at home and I don't want to miss the opportunity. This property is absolutely amazing. Infinity pool, privacy, views, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed...the list goes on.
It is one of the nicest properties on the island...book it, you won't be disappointed!

PARADISE ON NEVIS

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I rented this villa for a week, and just got back on Saturday. This property is amazing - quite possibly the best house in which we have ever stayed. The views alone of the St Kitts and the Caribbean are worth the price alone. The house was very clean and everything worked well. There is no AC in the house but you really don't need it, and most houses on the island don't have it. The constant breezes keep things cool in the house with screens on all windows and doors. You can throw everything open and feel the tradewinds.

There is plenty of room, and the pictures are all very accurate and recent. The furnishings are perfect island style - comfy and great for lounging. The patio furniture is ideal for "limin' " as they say on Nevis - which means relaxing - usually with a rum drink! We did a lot of that.

You can arrange for folks to meet you at the St Kitts airport and drive you to the water taxi landing so you can get over to Nevis. They will meet you with a rental car over there too? The owners were so helpful in showing us how to make our stay great. They even found out where we could watch the Super Bowl on island, since there's no TV. They gave us a great info packet ahead of time and there's a full notebook in the house with handy phone numbers, restaurant menus, suggested tours and things to see and do.

The house is well-equipped with WiFi, games, books and even some DVDs.

There are surprisingly quite a few very good restaurants to check out on Nevis. We tried as many as we could in seven days! Make sure you try Golden Rock, Chrishi Beach Cafe, and Paradise Drive-Thru for a locals menu.

We will definitely be back! Can't say enough good things about this wonderful house and the owners!

AN UNFORGETTABLE CARIBBEAN JEWEL

  • 5 of 5
This property is everything we could have wanted in a vacation home. The owners, Tamara and David, have created an ambience that is idyllic. The photos are accurate...we were delighted to find such a lovely and well-cared for house. From the plantation shutters, to the verandas, to the pool and deck scene, it is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation.

Flying into St. Kitts, we rented a car and drove to the Seabridge car ferry. We were surprised at how easy it was to navigate around both St. Kitts and Nevis, even driving on the left side of the road. The car ferry leaves every two hours and is quite close to Broad Reach. We arrived at night and thanks to helpful neighbors, were led right to the house. There is a tram which is good for taking up suitcases and groceries.

The negative edge pool is so inviting that it's hard to leave, but we took small day trips...the whole island is less than 40 miles in circumference. We had a fabulous meal at Bananas Bistro in the rainforest...getting there when it is light is recommended because it's a beautiful, albeit bumpy, ride. Nesbit Plantation was fun for a special prix fixe dinner, Oaulie Beach for lunch, and Gallipot for fresh fish....all within a few minutes of the house.

According to the locals, there had been an unusual amount of rain prior to our visit and the snorkeling wasn't the best but then Nevis is not known for snorkeling. There are plenty of beach options though. We especially liked Lover's Beach. No one was there but us and the monkeys in the jungle between the road and the beach.

We got most of our groceries at a market called Best Buy in Gingerland. Every day we would get up to this gorgeous view and have breakfast and lunch on the veranda. Broad Reach is the perfect (repeating myself here) place for limin' (hanging out). Time to read books from the well-stocked house library. Or, time to do crosswords or jigsaw puzzles, play on the ipad, and have yummy rum punches made with St. Kitts rum. There are two wifi connections available as well as a tv with a DVD...enjoyed Season 1 of Mad Men again! All of the beds have secure mosquito netting but you still need repellent in the evenings.
The owners, Tamara and David, are quick to respond to any questions, thoughtful, and efficient with the rental contract and keys. It was such a pleasure to stay in their house in Nevis...it's definitely one of the best locations on the island.

Most of the neighboring homes are vacation homes like ours and not always occupied. Nevis in general and our area in particular are extremely peaceful, and everything moves at a slow pace. It is a perfect place for relaxation. Our closest neighbor is a cruise ship captain; he and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful. Our maid, Hema, comes to clean once a week, and is also very helpful. The most comical neighbors we have are the monkeys, who sometimes run across the roof or patio, or frolic in the surrounding trees.

It's a 3 minute walk to a rocky beach with snorkeling, and a 5 minute walk to a sandy beach. All beaches on Nevis are public access. It's a 5 minute drive to charming Oualie Beach, with palm trees, hammocks, lounges, a beach bar and restaurant, and water sports. There are plenty of other good restaurants nearby as well. The island is small, but has a very interesting history, and lots of places to explore. There are many scenic ruins of sugar plantations and mills, and several that have been beautifully restored for use as restaurants and inns. Mt. Nevis is topped by a rainforest, with great hiking. There is a Four Seasons Resort on the island with all of its amenities.
