I grew up in the Northeast and would visit my grandmother in NC often. I have always loved vacationing in the NC mountains.
David Dilday purchased this cabin in 2010
I bought this property because my girls and I loved the mountains of NC. There is so much to do and see and the people are great. This property has tons of peace and privacy but is within 20 minutes of down town Hendersonville and all the shopping, restaurants, and exploring you would ever want.
We love the cool mountain air, spring and fall colors, and having a place to get away from it all, yet be close enough to all the activities you could ever want. You get the best of both worlds. Relax in the hammocks on the veranda or kick back on the large porch. Hike down to the pond or stream and listen to the relaxing sounds of the water and birds.
My husband and I had a wonderful 5 year anniversary getaway here at the cabin. We loved taking our dogs for walks. We had a very scenic trip to Hendersonville when our GPS sent us left out of the driveway. The NC Aboretum was a beautiful visit and afterwards we enjoyed ice cream and window shopping in Hendersonville. The waterfalls were beautiful and we could have spent several days at the park, but mostly we enjoyed unwinding in this beautiful escape. The hammocks were our favorite reading spot and we loved having the windows open to enjoy the sounds of nature.
we really enjoyed our stay and was very happy with the cabin and everything about it. Was very clean and comfortable and all the supply's we needed for our stay
we had a great time at this adorable cabin. Beautiful sunrises and just relaxing. Very clean and well stocked. Very private.
The cabin was such a great find! It is so scenic when you drive up. The cabin is dog friendly which made it perfect for us! The hammocks and outdoor fireplace were our favorites. The cabin is well stocked with everything you need. There are only two things I'd mention that were a little different from the description. It says it sleeps 6 but that would be extremely tight. The bunk beds and sleeper sofa are both in the living room. The upstairs is huge but only sleeps 2 and there is no door separating the space. I think more than 4 would be too cozy. The only other disappointment was the pond and trails. The pond is extremely small and not really accessible. The trails are short and unmarked. Again, this isn't a big deal because Asheville has so many beautiful trails and waterfalls. We will definitely be back. We had a great time and would highly recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a little getaway from everyday life. Thanks for having us!
My husband and I enjoyed our getaway weekend, it had everything we needed. We checked in on Halloween evening and we woke up to about 3 inches of snow on Saturday morning.....it was beautiful!!! We also experienced 50-55 mph winds which kept us inside, so we weren't able to get out and enjoy the snow. We weren't able to go anywhere because we were afraid that we couldn't make it back up the hill - but it was all good!! We just kicked back and watched TV and enjoyed the view. We would love to come back again....maybe in the spring or summertime! :-) Thank you for sharing your cabin it was wonderful.
I found the cabin to be very clean and well maintain. The only problem I found was that the grill wasn't clean very well. My guess and myself found it very relaxing and such a nice getaway. We really enjoy our's stay.
We booked the veranda on line and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and found it exactly as advertised. We loved the fireplace outside and used it every night, we cooked on the grill each night as well. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed and the cabin was warm and inviting and comfortable. Our dog had the best time roaming around the property, we will certainly be back!!
We are within easy driving distance of a number of area attractions which include Chimney Rock Park, Lake Lure, The Biltmore Estate, Pisgah National Forest, Dupont Forest, Flat Rock Playhouse, Bat Cave, Grandfather Mountain, Mt. Mitchell, Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Caverns, Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Blue Ridge Corn Maze, Gorges State Park, and The Carl Sandburg Home. These are all about 30 minutes from our Cabin. Downtown Hendersonville has many shops including antique shops, classic diner and soda shop, home made fudge store, and a Mast General Store, just to name a few, and lots of great restaurants, which are only a 20 minute drive. There are many festivals and bands the play in the downtown area throughout the year. We have ski slopes in the winter and hiking, waterfalls, white water rafting, and horseback riding in the summer. Whatever your interest in the mountains, you're sure to find it here in Hendersonville.
