The lovingly restored five bedroom villa is located just ten minutes from the ancient walled town of San Ginesio. Our secluded pool rests on the edge of our own hilltop and the panoramic views down into the valley are truly outstanding. A holiday home in two parts, and ideal for two families or a large group of friends, Casa Tranquilla is perfect for a special holiday. Tucked away in this idyllic corner of the country, Casa Tranquilla will give you a taste of the 'real' Italy. There is ample parking and plenty of space for frisbees and footballs. Being at the very end of the road the only passing traffic you will see will be the occasional tractor or porcupine. The villa and the professionally landscaped grounds are peaceful and undisturbed by the noises and stresses of modern life. Our home incorporates comforts like iPod docks, an HD ready TV with DVD/Blu-Ray collection and ceiling fans in all bedrooms.

  • 10% discount! For guests who are prepared to pay in full, at the time of booking our villa for summer 2010, we are delighted to offer a 10% discount.
  • A deposit of £300 against breakages is taken 8 weeks before the booking. This is returnable as soon as the property has been checked and the owner notified. The rental includes gas, electricity, wood, linen, towels and pool towels. A change of linen and towels is provided at the end of the 1st week of a 2 week stay.

Notes: The stunning 10m x 5m pool stands on the edge of our hill, looking out across the beautiful valleys and open farmland. The pool uses a salt process which means no more chlorine smells, stinging eyes or dry skin. Compared to a regular pool, this water feels soft and leaves skin feeling refreshed. Just like being at the beach - but with only 1/10th of the salt content! Open from May to September the pool is not heated, however the normal summer range is between 26C and 30C. The suspended decking is not only splinter proof and slip resistant, it also provides spectacular views. Sit back, relax and listen to the wildlife stirring in the evening and watch the fireflies dance below. While half of the land is steep wooded slope, the rest (about an acre) is flat and landscaped with olive trees, stone pines and flat grasses. A word of caution, due to the steep nature of the countryside around us we do not think the villa is suitable for children under 4 years of age.

We had a fantastic family holiday, getting away from it all without sacrificing any home comforts. The villa is a sympathetic, contemporary conversion with a high level of attention to detail. All our needs were anticipated and catered for, while being surrounded by stunning countryside. It ticks every box for a get-away-from-it-all holiday.

An Italian Jewel

We spent the last week of August ‘09 at Casa Tranquilla and it’s stunning.

We travelled from Bologna taking the coastal road to Ancona then turning inland toward the mountains.
Casa Tranquilla is set in the Sibillini mountain range near to the small town of San Ginesio, it’s fitted and equipped to the very highest of standards. The scenic views from the villa, the superb pool and the quiet, slow moving surroundings make it a perfect place to relax.

The nearby towns of Tolentino and San Ginesio are traditional and clean with restaurants, shops and interesting sites (the Ice Cream shop in Tolentino and Pizza in the square in San Ginesio were very popular with my lot).

Equip yourself with bottles of the local wine, fresh meat and produce then get the BBQ to cook it all as slowly as possible.

Long Lazy Days

For a relaxing break, Casa Tranquilla certainly lives up to its name; the peace and quiet here is only surpassed by the stunning panoramic views. The deck surrounding the swimming pool is just the best place to enjoy long lazy days, and with gin and tonic in hand, is the perfect spot for sun set watching. The farmhouse and annex are simply lovely, the whole place has a great homely feel. We had a super time here and could certainly stay a while longer, thank you very much for introducing us to this lovely corner of Italy.

Perfect Girly Weekend

This fantastic villa is in the most idyllic setting! Casa Tranquilla is a mix of modern and authentic Italian and manages a skillful balance between boutique hotel and feeling like being at home. The impressive pool has outstanding views that you could just sit and stare at all day. There are lots of DVDs and very comfortable sofas so we could chill very happily when the heat beat us inside.

The local town of San Ginesio has a couple of excellent bars and restaurants, and I know there are many touristy things to do in the area like ballooning and cycling and some excellent mountain walks, but we did not have time on this trip. The villa is literally equipped with everything you could think of so a great place any time of the year, either to escape to for a girls weekend or to go with the family for a long holiday. I highly recommend it!

Family Paradise

We fell in love with this villa from the moment we arrived. It is set in the most beautiful location surrounded completely by the most amazing views. It may sound clichéd but we did feel we were in paradise. We stayed at the villa as two families and our family of four was in the ‘pool house’. This worked really well, giving each family a little bit of space. With both bedrooms having en-suite wet rooms, it was better equipped than we have in our own house.

The villa is set up for group entertaining and we enjoyed many fantastic meals at the outside BBQ table which seats fourteen. The villa is glorious - the whole place has been fitted out to the highest standards. If only we could capture it all and take it home!

I would recommend Casa Tranquilla for family groups with children over 4 years (any younger and you may worry about the pool area). If you are looking to get away from it all and relax this place is perfect.
