|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
It's impossible not to sit back and relax on this quiet 3/4 acres vacation rental situated on the Manistee River. We affectionately refer to it as 'Lee-Sures Way.' Enjoy our favorite pastime - railing, which is reclining in a chair on the spacious wrap around deck with your feet up on the railing just watching the river go by! From that vantage point you actually look down into the river. The splendor of unspoiled state land is right across the river.

*** The River (fishing, canoeing, kayaking) ***
This portion of the Upper Manistee River has been given special designation by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as a 'Michigan Natural River' because of it's pristine water quality and abundant and unspoiled natural environs and wildlife. This section of the river is designated for fly fishing only and offers some of Michigan's best trout fishing. Brown, Brook, and Rainbow trout abound. Nearby fisherman landmarks are Yellow Tree, Burnt Cabin, Pearls on a Necklace, and the CCC Bridge. The river also affords excellent canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and swimming opportunities. Two canoe liveries are located nearby. Many inland lakes as well as Lake Michigan and Lake Huron are nearby offering several fine beaches and fishing.

Hi, I'm Pat Lee and together with my daughter Kim and son-in-law Paul we have chosen to share this beautiful home with you! Though I was born in North Carolina, I have spent most of my life in Michigan. I have always enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and abundant recreation and leisure our state has afforded. In fact, our home's name, Lee-sure's Way, is a play on my last name and the leisure one can enjoy just being here.
Pat Lee purchased this house in 1991
For many years, my husband Marvin and I have enjoyed many wonderful times up here by ourselves and with family and friends. There is so much we have done; hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling, canoeing, tubing, campfires, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and yet many times we did absolutely nothing. We just enjoyed and relaxed. Marvin is gone now, but we would like to share these experiences with you - I think he would have liked that.
When you come up, it will just be natural for you to rail. That is just sitting on a chair on the deck, with your feet up on the railing, just enjoying the river. Every season; summer, winter, spring, and fall are all wonderful up here. And there isn't a more gorgeous river in the state - maybe even the midwest - than the Upper Manistee. It is truly pristine.
When you stay with us, Paul and Kim will take care of all your needs. They live just up the river. Don't hesitate to call.
Thanks, and enjoy the north,
Pat, Kim, and Paul
This cabin is amazing! We were very impressed with the cleanliness, decor, the view, and everything that was provided in the cabin. We had two couples stay for a weekend and it was relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful. We were able to take a kayak/canoe ride down the river (starting up river and ending at the cabin) which took about 3 hours and it was well worth it. We didn't use the loft, but if we had kids, it would be a perfect spot for them. Overall we loved our stay and appreciated that the owner/manager was friendly, helpful, and accessible. Thank you!
This was the perfect getaway for a few days or a few weeks. The two of us only stayed four nights but had a great time which could only have been better if we had more time. Your hosts, Paul and Kim, provide everything you could possibly need except for clothing and food. If you are a couple just looking to get away from everything, this is exactly what the doctor ordered. The river is great, wild life abounds, and loads of time for catching up on your latest book. We could also see that there was plenty for a family also - lots of indoor and outdoor games for the kids, big and small. And even if you don't have a canoe, it is easy enough to rent one on the Manistee for a few hours to the entire day.
We really hope to have a chance to go back next year and perhaps bring a few grandkids.
If are looking for a negative, it would be hard to find one. But the only drawback is that the drive off the paved roads is a little long (takes about 20-25 minutes). However, this is part of the magic as it is very secluded, particularly during the week.
We will be recommending this to our friends and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a north woods getaway.
Pat, Paul and Kim:
What a delightful place to spend a week. In 20 years of vacationing Up North (Wisconsin, the U.P. and northern Michigan), we have never found a place so nicely decorated, so completely equipped for our stay, and so beautifully situated. We could easily get to Traverse City, Petoskey and other interesting locations. But the best part is sitting on the deck, and enjoying the surroundings: the swift, silent river; the varieties of birds that visit the feeders; the gentle breeze that always seems to blow along the deck; the whispering of the shady pines, the slide of the shadows on the deck as the sun moves through the day. When we stopped to appreciate what lay in front of us, we felt the most delightful sense of calm and contentment. It was all the good things people have written before. We are so looking forward to another vacation here. We encourage people who want to enjoy a peaceful stay in a beautiful and serene setting to (1) wait until we have booked our next vacation at LeeSures Way, and (2) then book their own.

Pat, Kim and Paul,
Thank you so much for opening your lovely cottage so that so many can experience the Manistee and the north woods. For our family the area is full of wonderful memories. Long before you began renting we spent many evenings on that marvelous deck swapping stories and just enjoying the serenity. We were so excited when we learned we could actually stay there! We were able to introduce a whole new generation to the this very special place.
The young ones enjoyed floating, tubing, fishing, spotting for deer, and being entertained by all the little critters skittering around the deck. We oldsters were all into the fine art of "railing". We loved every minute making new memories!
For anyone exploring this as a vacation spot or just a quiet getaway, this is the best of the best. The cottage is welcoming, comfortable and very clean. There is nothing you'd need to bring as the host's have thought of and provided everything. Their cottage is well appointed and decorated in that special "up north" way. Everything is all about rest and relaxation.
I almost hate touting this place because I'd be happy to keep it a secret as we plan on going back again and again! Mega thanks to Kim and Paul for everything!
My husband and I just spent the week in this 'little bit heaven' ! If you want to spend your vacation in an exceptionally clean and comfortable home..this is it! Nature at it's best...deer, wild turkeys, porcupines, ducks, osprey, an assortment of birds and a gently flowing river. You can't get any better than this. The wineries are only an hour away, kayaking on the Manistee, walks in the woods and several good restaurants in Kalkaska, Grayling and around Traverse City of course. Paul and Kim make sure everything is perfect for your vacation. Follow their directions and NOT your GPS ! Thanks again Paul and Kim !
This was our second year staying at Lee-Sures Way and we are already planning our trip for next year. Perfect location for fun and fishing on a section of the Manistee that doesn't get much traffic. We always have a great time, everything you need can be readily found inside the cabin, Paul and Kim are excellent hosts, and the house as always is clean. If you are looking for a great place to stay (location, cleanliness, responsive hosts, amenities in the cabin) then this is the place. Can't say enough good things about Lee-Sures Way. We are looking forward to returning year after year.
