Stunning barn conversion with serious green credentials standing in its own large private garden with south facing patio, sheltered sandstone courtyard and gently sloping lawns, only a short drive to the beautiful sandy and surf beaches of North Devon/Cornwall. Stone Barn (sleeps 10 +2) has 5 bedrooms : 2 kingsize rooms with ensuite shower/WC, a further ground floor kingsize room, 2 twin rooms, a bathroom/WC, a shower/WC and utility room on the lower ground floor, large open plan living/kitchen/dining area arranged around huge stone fireplace with double sided cast iron log burner. Guests have exclusive use of the wildlife activity/games room in the smaller barn next door and access from the garden gate to Beer Mill Nature Trails (Devon Wildlife Trust Gold Award since 2003) - 45 acres of waymarked nature trails, with wildlife hide, information and rest points. Central heating from ground source heat pump, solar panels, rainwater harvesting. Pets are welcome - kennel provided.

Holsworthy is a traditional bustling market town on a Wednesday (market day) and a sleepy rural town for the rest of the week with excellent pubs, takeaway food shops, local sports hall/swimming pool, helpful tourist information centre, banks and shops. For food shopping there is a new Waitrose supermarket, a small Co-op, Providence Farm for organic meat and produce and Clawton Farm shop for an excellent range of local produce aswell as the Wednesday market (great for local fish and fresh fruit and veg). Clawton is 3 miles south of Holsworthy and the nearest seaside town of Bude is only a 10 mile drive. A wonderful uncommercialised rural oasis with easy access to a fabulous range of outdoor activities and peaceful unspoilt countryside at the heart of the area known as the Ruby country because of the local cattle breed.

Sept/April/May - 3 nights for up to 12 guests £600.

We offer a discount rate for smaller parties from Sept to July of £600 per week.
Pets welcome at £20 per pet - rules apply please check with owner.
Prices include all bedding and organic bedlinen, underfloor heating(ground source heat pump) and electricity (from green source), hot water from solar panels with electric back up, large basket of logs (thereafter available at cost or locally) starter supply of eco household products, access to Beer Mill Nature Trails from the garden gate (weather and conditions permitting) Towels available to hire at £4 per person (one bath sheet/one hand towel). Household towels and cloths provided.

Walks from the garden gate - peaceful rural haven: Located at the heart of Beer Mill Nature Trails on the Devon/Cornwall border the Stone Barn is perfect for family and friends to get together and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside while only a short drive from the stunning beaches of the North Cornwall and Devon Coast with beautiful scenery, coastal walks, sandy and surf beaches and sea pool at Bude. Roadford lake with its own wildlife reserve, beautiful walks, sailing and windsurfing on the largest inland body of water in the Southwest, off road cycling and horse riding trails is only 15 minutes away down quiet country lanes. Instruction for 1/2 day and whole day for everyone age 8 and over. Fishing - course and fly in beautiful wild rivers or lovely tranquil lakes or coastal trips all available nearby. A range of golf courses all within easy reach to suit every level. Camel Trail, Tarka Trail off road cycling nearby and owners happy to help arrange cycle hire.
