Great location, wonderful bungalow in downtown orlando!

  • 5 of 5
This is a great property. In a safe, wonderful area in downtown orlando. You can walk to a variety of restaurants, Publix grocery store just up the road with a parking garage. Fourth of July fireworks at Lake Eola were a treat! Lake Lawsona just across the street, and yes you can hear lots of nature noises at night when you walk outside..loved it! My Border Terrier loved chasing all the little lizards that are part of Florida too.
Dottie was wonderful to deal with. Since we were down here for 7 weeks, we had a few questions that came up, and Dottie was quick to respond. She even recommended a wonderful lady to cut my hair. One very big kudos to Dottie was when the air conditioning stopped cooling on the Fourth of July , we called to let her know, and she had someone here to fix it in less than a couple of hours. That was impressive, and going beyond the call of duty, we were so thankful, because it is hot in Florida in July!
Thanks Dottie, for making our stay so nice, we really felt like we were at home, in fact I began calling it home after just a couple of weeks.

Really Peaceful Stay in Orlando

  • 5 of 5
We like to stay in homes that are kid and pet friendly as we travel with our 2 dogs and daughter (and her friends). We loved Dottie's home - easy to get to off the Interstate... quiet and beautiful area with the lake and older homes with character. We did Disney every day and the drive was not bad... it was so nice to come back to a cozy home with a terrific bed... super comfy. Very clean and modern. Garden area and fountain are very nice.

Quaint Bungalow in an Ideal Location

  • 5 of 5
Stayed for three nights while in town for a charity event. Conveniently located three blocks from the event, walking was easy and preferred on a warm Saturday night. One of the guests, an Orlando native, said Thornton Park is the place to stay, particularly if you're looking for a quiet getaway with amenities in close proximity and they couldn't have been more right.

Upon arrival, the house was clean and prepared with all necessary instructions easy to locate (easy access to the security lock, wifi password, ect). Towels laid out complete with welcome mints (one of our later guest arrivals asked if there was turn down service). Walked to the grocery store to stock up on the first day, enjoyed a phenomenal cup of black coffee each morning thereafter (can't recall the name, but French Bakery in the heart of Thornton Park) and the farmer's market on Lake Eola the final day. In the midst of rainy weather, we holed up in the quaint, homey bungalow with some soulful tunes and a bottle of wine (the wine fridge was a nice plus) and it was far better than any hotel we normally would have stayed. Street parking was consistently a breeze.

Because I was the first to arrive the first day with our lovely better halves joining the second day and preparing to pack, I received a series of requests for what the house was equipped with. Channeling my inner Hardy Boy to locate, the items couldn't have been simpler to find save for the living room floor. Hair Dryer? Check. Iron and ironing board? Check? Washer and Dryer (didn't need)? But check? Plenty of mirrors and ample lighting? Check. Bottom line, everyone enjoyed their stay and although we didn't need to contact Dottie for anything, we know she was just a phone call away.

Thanks for a great weekend.

As quaint as the photos

  • 5 of 5
This place was perfect. It is as quaint and beautiful as the photos show. The owner is helpful and quick to respond to questions. The home was so nicely cleaned and fresh when we arrived and made relaxing right away easy. The Thorton Park area that this home is in is really neat. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance (including Starbucks) and a lake across the street. I know many people come to Orlando to get out and go to Disney and other attractions but on days when you don't feel like driving and fighting crowds staying around the house and enjoying the neighborhood will still be one of your favorite vacation days.

Perfect, Relaxing Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5
Four of us young adults stayed at this house for a week to escape the cold weather and loved it! The location is in a friendly historic neighborhood and is walking distance to Thornton Park, Lake Eola and even Downtown Orlando, which was perfect. The house and yard was very charming and we felt right at home in it. We would love to stay here again!

If you like artsy quaint areas to visit…then this area is for you. In this neighborhood, you’ll find homes built as early as the 1920’s, quaint brick streets, mature landscaping with large oak trees. You must see some of the natural local parks in the area...there are three within walking distance from this property. Lake Eola, Lake Lawsona and Azalea/Langford. You must check out the largest tree in Orlando, which is only a couple of blocks from this property.
