My husband and I returned to our love of skiing after an absence of over 20 years. Our three children are adults and have wonderful families of their own, and we could see the advantage of owning up at Big White.
Loretta Stutters purchased this chalet in 2011
We have spent wonderful family times in our chalet at this gorgeous family-orientated ski hill and, after purchasing the other side of our chalet's duplex, we would like to share the 2nd side with you.
We have pride of ownership and the building is well maintained. It is comfortable in a very relaxed setting. If you are looking for a fantastic ski vacation where there is something for everybody, even the non-skier, then bring your family and you will not be disappointed. Big White is magical.

We were 7 adults staying for 4 nights in February 2015 and were all pleasently surprised when we first walked in. The pictures do kind of make the place seem a bit small but it had plenty of room to accomadate all of us. The owner stayed in touch and answered any questions we had via email very promptly. We were all very satisfied with the gorgeous view from the hot tub and all the amenities. We are looking forward to staying there again next season!
Our family had a wonderful time at the condo during Family Day weekend. It was in perfect condition upon arrival and the space allowed us to spred out and relax. The hot tub was large enough to include friends who joined us for a meal and soak at the end of the day. We will certainly consider staying here again in the future.
Our family stayed for a week from Boxing Day to January 2nd and had a great visit. The owners are very responsive to any questions both before and during the visit. The ski in/ski out was good and we enjoyed the hot tub after a day on the slopes. The unit is clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Big White.
The only surprise was that chalet was in fact much nicer than the pics! The place was immaculate - extremely clean and all in good order. The layout is perfect. If you enjoy cooking the kitchen is awesome. You will find everything you need and plenty of counter space for preparing large meals. The open concept dinning and living area invites great social interaction for family/friend dinners. The bedding was very comfortable. Even the bunk beds! We were very pleased with the sleeping arrangements. The fabulous view and the wonderful deck hot tub significantly contributed to washing away any pre vacation stress. For us the location was perfect. We just loved the ski in-out. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner. She was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We will be back!
We stayed for a week with our Adult group that varied between 1-6 people throughout the week.
The unit was clean and well appointed as far as space, comfortable bedding, nice towels, kitchen needs, etc. The owner, Loretta was very responsive to emails before and during our stay.
The shuttle bus to the village was even more convenient than we had expected. It ran on time and all of the shuttle drivers were very friendly. Ski-in was perfect and another couple hundred yards past the shuttle stop you can join the trail to ski down to the lifts instead.
I'm glad I asked before we went if there were any spices, sugar, etc already in the unit--as often there is an array of these type of non-perishables either stocked or left from previous renters. There are not, so be sure to bring or plan to buy what you need!
The only other advice I would offer is that the internet speed is pretty slow. I had intended to work for the two days mid-week that I was there alone, and the network was not really sufficient for desktop sharing, uploading / downloading files.
One bedroom is a loft overlooking the living room--keep in mind if your group tends to keep very different social hours.
In general the house and the resort suited our needs very well. It was our first time at Big White, and the home, the logistics, the available terrain and activities all factored into a very easy and fun vacation. Thanks, Loretta!
Our family of 5 booked for 3 days over Christmas and loved our stay at the Chalet. It was even nicer than the pictures. The Chalet is decorated very nicely and has lots of space with the 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. We especially enjoyed the cozy feel of the living room with fireplace. The hot tub was perfect to warm up in after a day on the hill and a great place to end the evening under a starry sky.
The chalet has a great view from the living room and deck and we were fortunate to see two spectacular sunrises.
The 20 minute walk to the village was beautiful in all the snow. There is also a free shuttle that will take you to the village. Don't miss the tube park, its lots of fun for adults too! The torchlight ski and fireworks Christmas Eve in the village are a sight to see!
The chalet was a perfect place to spend our family Christmas!
